Hi, I am presently in kidney failure and on dialysis. Drinking water won't cause kidney failure and in fact, after I get a kidney my nephrologist said that along with drinking all of my fluids for the day, he wants me to drink 2 liters of water to keep the kidneys working good.

no water is good for you if it is CLEAN water free from city chlorine.Get you a reverse osmosis system that makes its own pure water. be carefull of different bottled waters because there was a thing on 60 minutes about different companies using tap water and putting labels on it saying its spring water ect ect if you see all this hard white lime around your faucets that is calcium deposits and very hard water. can you imagine what this water does to your insides. I have heard this can cause kidney stones if you are prone to them but not for sure. just remember people are watching the water we put in our bodies now more than ever because of all the chemicals. So drink alot of water it does flush the kidneys. you will know when you pee. if you are getting enough water your pee will be clear. if you have strong yellow pee you need to up your water.CLEAN PURE WATER

It can but drinking too much water is more likely to cause you a problem with your electrolyte balance (not having enough salt in your body). There was a college student in Dallas that was hazed with drinking a lot of water in a very short amount of time. He ended up in a coma for several days. To my knowledge he is fine now.

No way. Drinking insufficient water may damage your kidney. Your kidney needs water to drain off "dirts" from your body.

i don't know if it will lead to kidney failure but it will lead to ill health in that systems need a degree of salinity (minerals, salts...etc)to operate correctly. too much water will throws off the body chemistry.
