My girlfriend trained her daughter at 11 mths...I cant remember what the method was called but I can remember how she did it. This takes consistency and patience, not to mention lots of laundry. Also you will need a small whistle or if your good at whistling you can do it yourself. Hope this helps. You want to keep your daughter naked most of the day (naps and nighttime excluded for the first couple of weeks). When she urinates, concentrate on her facial expression and her body movement, same for bowel movements....after your familiar with her expressions, whistle each time right before she starts to go and hold her over the toilet....that is basically it. After some time, she will associate the whistling with going potty....and will begin making the whistling sound herself when she needs to go. This does work, but you really need to be consistent or she will never get it. Good Luck.

It is very possible. My sons first babysitters child was potty trained at 1 years old. I honestly don't know how she did it and I haven't read any of the responses but I could tell by some of your added details that people are giving you a hard time. If you think your child is ready to start learning, well mom always knows.
But I would bring her into the bathroom with you and show her what you are doing. Another thing you can do is take the poopie from her diaper and have her help you put it into the toilet. That may help give her an idea of what is what in potty training.
Good luck.

At 8 months she won't get the idea but you can hold her over the potty until she goes. This may take a long long time. It can be frustrating for her and you. I wouldn't recommend it but it is up to you. She won't understand it until she is about 2 and maybe even later.
Look in to a book about potty training infants(below age 1). There are methods on how to do it in there.

8 months is too young to start toilet training.
You have to wait until the child can do the following all by himself:
- know that he needs to go
(First stage is telling you they have already gone, then that they are going NOW, then that they need to go.
- walk to the potty
- remove his pants and sit down
- do his business
- wipe himself
- wash his hands
Most children do not have the motor skills to do all that before at least two years of age, and most are much older.
You can train YOURSELF to watch your child's body language so that you pop him on the potty in time, but this is NOT potty training.
Be patient! All you have to do right now is to let him watch you go so that he gets the idea. There are lots of children's books on potty learning, but he really is too young for them at present.

Well just last week my son 2 1/2 just started using the tiolet. I started him off with pull ups but they didn't work because he would just use them as diapers. So i figured maybe he needs something a little light so i had him wearing regular underwear. He knew they weren't daipers so he let me know he had to go. A couple messes happened of course but he now knows how to use the tiolet. Now i can' t get him away from constantly flushing the tiolet. Good Luck with yours!

How old is your baby? I don't believe in potty training infants. My middle child chose to start using the potty at 14 months on his own.

most kids potty train around the age of two..a good sign that they are ready to start trying is when they wake up dry from naps and over night...pull ups are pretty good with the new cool touch stuff they have, most of all be consistent, don't change from pull-ups to diapers, once you start stick with it..there are many reward systems that you can find on line, one friend of mine used mini m&m's with her daughter, for every time she tried she got one if she actually went then two. Good Luck!

Get a doll that urinates and reward the doll after it uses the toilet (make sure you ask the doll to go potty in front of your child) and your child will want that same praise or reward you give the doll.

make sure he/she knows that in order to do things that he/she looks forward to that he has to use the toilet. (if you don't use the potty you can't go to the playground with the big kids who use the potty) also do or give something the baby likes when he/she goes successfully on the toilet

this really depends how old your baby is. if they are not steady on thier feet you don't really want to draw thier attention to a potential drowning hazard, also, boys need a little more time to understand because sitting on the seat is uncomfortable. it's cold on thier danglies
