my dogs are afraid of water and i want to know why

yeah mine doesn't like it when we bathe him, yet when it rains he stands in the water! As soon as he sees the hose he tries to get away from it. I don't know some dogs like water though...Maybe it depends on if they were acostumed to water when they were younger..

My dog isn't afraid of the water - she'll sit on the top step of the pool and play in the sprinkler and hose -- but she doesn't want to get all the way in for some reason.

My dog is afraid of water too. I think they don't like getting wet.

My dogs were that way too. They just have to be introduced in some way. If you have a small kiddie pool (usually $10.00) try and throw they're favorite toy in and see if they go after it. It worked for me and I have three labs....Go figure.

Did you have them as puppies? Maybe they had a bad incounter with it when they were little. Who knows? Know one really knows for sure.
