I don't intend to bash. I just ask that you read my answer with an open mind. He was talking as three entities. God the Father, God the Son, and God the Holy Spirit. That is where the we came from. I questioned this too before I became involved in church. Have a Good Day

God is made up of three persons in one. The Father, Son and Holy Ghost. A good example of this is found when the Lord Jesus Christ was baptized by John. The Son was on earth, The Father was in heaven and the Holy Spirit fell on the Son. Also the term "us" to fulfill all righteousness. Matthew 3: 15 And Jesus answering said unto him, Suffer it to be so now: for thus it becometh us to fulfil all righteousness. Then he suffered him. Matthew 3: 16 And Jesus, when he was baptized, went up straightway out of the water: and, lo, the heavens were opened unto him, and he saw the Spirit of God descending like a dove, and lighting upon him: Matthew 3: 17 And lo a voice from heaven, saying, This is my beloved Son, in whom I am well pleased. Since the Lord Jesus Christ is also called the Word we see that there three that bear record in heaven. 1 John 5: 7 For there are three that bear record in heaven, the Father, the Word, and the Holy Ghost: and these three are one.

First of all, is not God from the Hebrew word Elohim, which is plural.
2. When God created Adam and Eve (a woman), would there have been a 'model' of a female there for her creation, separate from man(male).
3. The 'we' and 'our' probably included 'God the Mother' (Understanding) and Wisdom. Both described in scripture in the female gender.

It is the first reference to the triune nature of God. God the Father, God the Son(Jesus) and the Holy Spirit were all present and active in the creation process.

In my opinion from Bible study, the Father is the Holy Spirit, and He was talking to Jesus/the Word, as the 2 of them created everything else.
Colossians 1:13 He delivered us from the authority of the darkness and transferred us into the kingdom of the Son of his love, by means of whom we have our release by ransom, the forgiveness of our sins. He is the image of the invisible God, the firstborn of all creation, because *by means of him all other things were created* in the heavens and upon the earth, ....
John 1:1 In the beginning the Word was, and the Word was with God, and the Word was (a) god. This one was in the beginning with God. All things *came into existence* through him, and apart from him not even one thing came into existence.
1 Cor. 8:6.. there is actually to us one God the Father, out of whom all things are, and we for him, and there is one Lord, Jesus Christ, *through whom all things are,* and we through him.
2Corinthians 3:17 Now YHWH is the Spirit, and where the spirit of YHWH is, there is freedom.

Colssians first chaper explains that
The Almighty God created another spirit creature like himself.
His first creation Jesus Christ
It goes on to say by means of him all other things in heaven and earth was created. Including man himself.
So together they created all things.
