Diabetics can eat fruit as long as it is natural(not pakced in syrupy juice). Fresh fruit is also acceptable, but it must be eaten in moderation unless you are overly active.

Type 1 diabetic for 30 thirty years.

yes, but you have to weigh and measure using your best judgement as to how much sugar there is in it, your diabetic diet info will help, any hospital has that and your doctor should have sent you to diabetic classes for your diet. then when you know how much sugar is in the fruit you calculate how much space you have in your diet for those carbs and eat that ammount. everything has to be weighed and measured to make sure you arent getting too much sugar. natural sugars are no better for you than the refined white stuff.

Yes, especially those that have a lower glycemic index. Apples are better than bananas as far as blood sugar goes. Your medical care providers can probably give you information on the glycemic index of different types of fruit.

Yes because it is a complex carbohydrate which means it takes longer to break down. If using the glycemic index, those figures are based on digestion on an empty stomach.

Only some fruit but not a whole lot as some of them have sugar in them.

Yes, if they monitor their sugar regularly enough to know what fruits raise their glucose levels too high. Moderation is always key.
