I am not sure how you could believe in Jesus and the infallibility of God and yet not believe in his written word. If you don't trust the book being passed down from Generations then find a solution such as learning to read Greek and Hebrew. Buy the NIV, which is the bible translated from the oldest manuscripts the scholars could find rather than taking a translation from a translation x20.
Faith in God is believing in the bible as the word of God. If God used man as stenographers, then he wouldn't let it go wrong over the centuries.
Your heart is in the right place, don't let people tell you are "wrong" though. You'll get things figured out.

A lot of people would say you are wrong. God didn't PRINT the Bible, nor was he the editor. People edited the Bible, if anybody questions that - I have to ask you why there are only 4 gospels in the Bible, when there are at least 4 that are not in there - it was censored. The Bible has been twisted and manipulated into a hate manual by some groups, when Jesus' message was all about love.

In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God and the Word was God. John 1:1 Jesus is the Word (Bible) made flesh. Not the physical words in the Bible or the printed and bound book but the the spiritual essense of the Bible. The Word was made Flesh and Dwelt among us. John 1:14 If you don't believe the Bible, you don't believe in Jesus.

There are two parts to this answer, the first is really a question. how did you know about Jesus or God. The answer, obliviously from the bible. Secondly the Bilbe is the verbal expression of God and the recorded history of the works of his son Jesus. The bible (word of God) can not be seperated from God or Jesus; John one of Jesus' disciples wrote in John Chapter 1 verse 1:" In the begining was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God. Therefore to believe in God and Jesus you should believe the Bible (the Word of God) because it tells you who he is and why you shoul believe in him and his son.

Jesus and God themselves started off as believers without the Bible. Could this be a lead of sorts?
But I'd rather keep the Bible and give up on the church. A unchurched Bible is fun.

No, it is not wrong. Christ's Love and God's Love is unconditional, and does not require you to believe anything about the bible that others say is required. That would contradict the unconditional nature of the Lord. These teachings were passed down as a guide, however humanity has created a religion out of the bible. This religion, in all of its forms, is an important conceptual framework for people who need it to grow in their relationship with the divine, however it is not necessary for people who have brought faith in Divine Oneness and Christ's Love inside of them. There is no truth in any book that you cannot also find in your own heart through prayer, meditation, listening to your inner source of guidence, specially if you have accepted Christ into your life. You have your own personal connection to the divine, and the doorway to Christ is within your own heart. Humanity's concept of God is evolving. For part of history that concept included the idea that the truth was contained in a single holy book, and yet we can see that this phenomenon is not unique to Christianity. A prophet, a book, a moral code: the same concept used for several different religions. But in an age of information and interconnectedness, will Humanity continue to argue over whose book and which prophet is right, or we will realize that the same wisdom is found in all the spiritual teachings of the world. Will we learn to focus on what is universal like the science and power of prayer, and the loving support of the angels, who are spoken of in most of the world's religious traditions in one form or another. We are all love and cared for the same.

Well, it's not odd at all to believe in God without believing in the Bible. I mean, Christianity doesn't monopolize the concept of God.
As far as Jesus, note that a lot of other religions acknowledge Jesus as a notable figure. They just don't give him the mystical significance that Christianity does. So, a general belief in Jesus without believing in the Bible doesn't seem odd to me. A belief that he is some kind of saviour figure does seem strange without some belief in the Bible, but I suppose it's possible.

What do you mean by not believing in the Bible? If you mean that you don't think that it is the truth, then yes, you're wrong....When the disciples and others were writing the parts of the Bible, it was God who was speaking through them, so basically the Bible is the Word of God.....let me put it this way, the Bible is basically God writing it using people. does that help a little?

I do not see how you can have any faith at all if you do not believe in the Bible!
The Bible says: Faith comes by hearing and hearing by the Word of God! How can your faith grow if you are not reading the Bible or attending Church!
The Body of Christ needs one another!
