Have you ever had a drug test?

My school district is starting to do random drug testing to the students who are involved in extracurrirer activites or have a parking spot...I am in my school color guard, so there is a possiblity that I might have to do the test (the one where you have to pee in a cup)........Have you ever had to do a drug test? If so, why?

I get randomly drug tested all the time. It shouldn't be an issue if you have nothing to hide.

Yes I've had to take drug tests for several job positions in the past. I'm going to go off in a little tangent here hope you don't mind... Requiring you to take a test under these circumstances is the most wasteful use of taxpayer money in the world. If I were at your high school I would try to start some kind of a protest to this policy which clearly violates your rights (although unfortunately the Supreme Court has ruled to the contrary)!
My feeling on drug testing is that positions which require protecting the public or could pose a danger to others if intoxicated (ie- police officer, airline pilot) should definitely require drug testing, but to arbitrarily test high school students without any reasonable suspicion is ridiculous!

Yes I have done a few. I am in the healthcare profession which, in some states it is mandatory to do drug testing prior to hiring employees. Also I have had to do a drug test on a fellow employee when there was an on the job injury to make sure drugs were not the cause of the injury.

Im rather torn on the subject..Ive known plenty of *druggies* who did well at work and at home, reared great kids, involved in church/community activities,and were all around great people.

Ive also known some who skipped class or dropped-out. Went into a life of crime to support their habit,beaten their kids/spose--etc.

Im allergic to penicillin, should i push for a ban on the drug because I have severe reaction to it?I also cant use certain soaps...maybe they should be banned as well?

sorry for the rant, but you know what point I am making. Employers and schools often test for drugs to insure safety--and Its a privacy violation--sure, but it helps keep those who abuse them in check.No program is perfect,and we have lots to learn about drugs and the mind. that is where we are heading now--but it takes trial and error to see how recreational drugs are to be approached

I have a commercial drivers license, my job requires random drug testing . I have peed in the cup many times also we have a random Breathalyzer test.

I have had to take at least 3 drug tests. all for jobs. My husband used to have to go for randon drugs tests at his job for the airlines.

when I went for each of the drug I would feel so nervous even though I have never done any drugs.

its a urine or blood test, if you use drugs stop now. if you take specific medicines have a list of them ready just incase you are asked.most jobs have random drug testing now, so you are going to go through it the rest of your life, simply because so many people feel they have to be hopped up on drugs to get through the day.

I haven't, thank God. lol God knows there's nothing wrong with marijuana. But I could always chug water... the sample would be so diluted, they wouldn't be able to fail me, but they may not pass either.
