No..you can't change ur last name until u are an adult. Unless ur parents consent to it which is highly unlikely..Why would u want to change ur family name anyway?

It is a pretty basic administrative law action, where a person goes to a court and basically swears that their purpose in changing their name is not to evade debts, commit fraud, or anything like that. If the name is spell-able and the judge is convinced it's not for any bad reasons, then it's pretty much a done deal.

However, minors generally lack the legal capacity to do things like ask a court to okay a name-change (or get stuck in a contract and a bunch of other stuff) without the consent of their parents. Once you're eighteen, you can call yourself pretty much anything you want. For now, though, you can not change your name, unless your parents will go along with your idea.

you can change your last name by going to your local court house you have to go see a judge that's the only way to do it will cost around 3 hounded dollars and there's some paper work to fill out it's not that hard to do it .You being 13 you will need to have your parents permission or you got to have a reason to do it that's where the courts come in

I know here in Ohio you can go to the courthouse in your city, go to the clerk of courts or probate office and ask for the paper work, fill out file them with the clerk and wait for your case to come before the judge, if he thinks your claims for a name change are just then he'll grant it. It's not hard I've done it it costs around $150.00 for me.

Your kinda stuck with it unless your parents are willing to sign, or until your 18 years of age and can do it yourself.

Good luck!
