Yes. A skycapy, bell boy, or even a taxi driver deserves a tip for handling your luggage. Most countries understand tipping, and it is only taboo in a few. Typically tourists are treated with a lot of respect, even when tipping is not customary in their home country. Also, while traveling, be sure to make sure that gratuity isn't already factored into your bills at reteraunts. I can tell you, I've traveled to 28 different countries around the world and tipped in all of the. Hotel staff, bartenders, and luggage handlers all appreciae the little extra. Never constrain yourself to a set tip amount. Always base your tips on the following: How they treated you, how much work they did, and how much the suggested gratuity rate is for that country (Something a travel agent could tell you). The same applies to resteraunts, if you had terrible service, a large tip isn't neccesary, they need to earn your money, and should always be striving too get on you and your wallets good side.

if you don't really want their help carrying your bag in, but they got it down off the van for you, give them a dollar and say, "thanks for your help" and then take the bag. If you were traveling with really heavy big, cumbersome bags, I'd say tip them $5 for a pair of bags, but in your case, $1 should be fine.

I think it's normal to tip $2 per bag - that's what I do anyway.
