Is being Gay wrong? I dont know... but there are so many things that we do nowadays, that many of us either dont know is wrong or dont care. none of us are sinless.
only someone without sin should be allowed to judge others. otherwise it would be like letting one 2 yr old guide and be responsible for directing the life and full ed of another 2 yr old.
we are all Gods children and I think periodically God laughs at us, and I believe sometimes we give God great sorrow. Too many of us assume we know the answers. too many of us put others down in order to neglect tending to our own faults. Way too many of us forget we live in glass houses, so they should think about that before they cast the 1st stone.
im straight... but i know some gay people. Im sure God wouldnt encourage hatred or discrimination of anyone for any reason. I think a true Christian would know that. When we meet our maker, I think we all have things to answer for.

Allright, I am christian and I believe in God. But, I have questions about some of the Bible. The Bible is so old, and has been transferred through so many different languages, what if the person who were re-writing it decided to change something? And did you know one book of the Bible was completely left out at one point? I forget the name, but I think it started with an "o". Anyway, the point I'm getting at is, even though the Bible of today says to condemn the gay and stuff, doesn't another part say to treat thy neighbor as thy brother? And to love others and turn the other cheek. I think someone might have changed that gay thing around. I think God intended for male and female, not both female and female and male and male. I wouldn't become gay, but I'm not going to drop friends because they're that way. And I don't look down upon them, I just treat them all with the respect I would want from them. Personally, I think being gay is a choice.
God Bless! Hope my answer helped!

"if there is so much discrimintation against people that are gay, why would anyone make a choice to be gay?"
If homosexuality is truly genetic, then how come there are results from studies of identical twins where one is homosexual and the other is not?
Asian Christians are persecuted, but they still decide that the risk of being killed as a Christian outweighs the risk of dying as a sinner. Just because there is risk involved with something says nothing about the nature of choice.
"Also, why is it even an "option" if God considers it so wrong?"
Free will makes possible the only kind of love worth living for.

No, being gay isn't wrong nor is it immoral or a choice. And no, to the person who mentioned something about demonic spirit, I don't think they're that either. Some people don't realize that years ago when a child was born with both genitalia, the child underwent surgery to "fix" what they saw as a problem. My point is, what if the child was predominately suppose to be a male, yet that genitalia was removed or vice versa? I don't know how rare that was or is today, I'm saying that it isn't a choice or decision, it is who they are and what they feel.
They are just people, human beings like the rest of us. It is wrong to discriminate and judge people for being different, and yes, that is what some people are doing. They are passing judgment on people who are homosexual.
The church my mother went to (before she died) fired their preacher for encouraging homosexuals to come to church. Pastor H. (out of respect for his privacy I'll refer to him as Pastor H.) was the most spiritual, honest, giving and compassionate preacher I had ever met.
Sorry about getting off the subject, but I wanted to make a small point of just how some people act concerning gays and the church. I see people quoting Leviticus whenever a question like this is asked and I think that people should start looking at the new testament and study the word that is written there.

I'm against homosexuality by religion. Personally I don't care what the infidels do as long as they don't get in my way or hit on me. I don't mean to offend, each to his/her own. Here are some reasons why being gay is wrong (according to some):
1. Bible, Quran and other texts of many religions say it is forbidden.
2. God punished them and this prooves that He was tottally against it.
3. It defeats the family structure, there should be man woman + children, not man*2
4. No kids can be made.
5. Homosexuals are prone to have multiple partners and lack commitment in the long-term to their partner.
6. Due to multiple partners there are a lot of STDs and that is why HIV was discovered among the gay community (mainly) in the US a while back.
7. Homosexuals are more prone (needs research to proove) to acts of sexual violence/rape (male & female) and child molestation. Most child molesters are gay men.
8. Humans were created with the inclination to have relationships between men and women and the body parts proove this reality. So homosexuality is considered unnatural.
9. Most homosexuals have psychological problems.
10. There are about 5% more women than men on average in a population so these women are left partnerless if they are heterosexual and monogamous/monoamorous.
11. Homosexuality numbers rise with the popularity and freedom of homosexuality in society so there is evidence it is a matter of pier pressure and influences from society. It is a choice.
12. Etc. Other reasons exist but I can't remember more.
Stupid Christians have made a mess of this issue as they would condemn homosexuals but on the same breath not make a big deal of other major sins like adultery or fornication. In fact, they often indulge in these sins, what hypocrites!

It's not wrong at all. In the Bible, the old testament made laws from God that were meant to be followed for health reasons. Eating certain meats, wearing certain fabrics, not laying with women in menses, not sleeping promiscuously (often mis translated as homosexuality) Most quotes ppl take from the Bible come from the Old Testament, which was basically fulfilled with the New Testaments, and most of the old law was no longer necessary.
Anyway... I know there are websites that go more into detail about citing certain Hebrew passages that have been mistranslated in the king james version.
The way I look at it, society is mostly heated about it because it's the new social discrimination. Note history. Indians, Blacks, Women, Gays... Give it 20 years, and we will wonder how anyone could be so stupid as to discriminate.

In the Christian community along with many other other religions, it is considered a sin. In the Bible, we are told that it is an abomination before the Lord.
It is an unnatural state for humans. A homosexual can not reproduce with the sexual partner that they choose.
In our society, people are afraid of Gays because they think that they will confuse their children.
We put our beliefs on others by choosing to discriminate against them, but then we have laws that keep us from most deviant behaviors.
As a society, we have to have laws and most are based on what the majority believes.
I have had Gay friends and they are some of the sweetest and kindest people that you can meet. As a christian, I think their lifestyle is wrong, but I do not have to save their souls, they do.

Most homosexuals share some common traits. Among them are a history of a distorted relationship with one or both parents. As an example, A friend of mine lost her father a a very young age. She was raised by her mother and an aunt. She grew up in a home without the normal male figure. As soon as she turned 18 she married a man much much older than her. It didn't work out. They were divorced and she attempted to recreate the environment that she grew up in. She now lives with another woman. Except for the sex, it is very much like the home she grew up in. Still the root of much of this was that she never had a good pattern to follow. As for the hatred, there is no justification for hatred. However disagreement is not the same as hatred. Much of what is called hatred is exagerated. Remember the Matthew Sheppard case. Katie Couric blamed it on Christians and gay activist even made a movie and a play about it. After the case was solved it was just a robbery. The killers had nothing to do with Christianity. Part of the strategy of gay activist is to make themselves look like victims whenever possible in order to gain public sympathy. A simple murder victim would not get as many headlines as a hate crime.
God does not force us to love him. We try to be obedient out of a genuine love for him. As I get to know more about God, i look forward to spending eternity with him. However, others do not want to spend eternity with God. They choose to spend it apart from him and all his blessings. Since they do not acknowledge God, they also do not acknowledge all his blessings. Being apart from all the spiritual and physical blessings is hell. One should not choose God just to avoid hell. That's would be like accepting one date because your first choice dumped you. It's not a real love for God. The great thing is that God loves us all equally and will take us back right up to the point of death His mercy is perfect.

It is wrong because God our creator says its an abomination Leviticus 18:22. God made man and woman, if God wanted homosexuality he would have made only men. God said to Adam and Eve to be fruitful and multiply and they were. Adam and Steve could not be fruitful and multiply. It is biologically impossible. Even in the New Testament in Romans 1:18-32 it talks about in verse 21 that "In the same way the men also abandoned natural relations with women and were inflamed with lust for one another. Men committed indecent acts withe other men and received in them the due penalty for their perversion."
Some one is not born gay but may have the spirit of lust, which is can lust after anything, i mean anything
There is not research that says that it is genetics that someone is gay. I read that a study was done on the mothers of gay/non-gay children and that a majority of the mothers of gay children shared a gene but that some the mothers of non-gay children had the same gene trait. basically that trait cannot not have a high correlation to having gay children

Homosexuality has existed in every society that man has existed on this earth. Historically some societies have accepted it, even revered homosexuals, and others have condemned it. Likewise, some societies have condemned, even killed people for being born left-handed. As late as the early 1900s, left-handed children were still being forced to become right-handed, as if something were wrong or abnormal with the way they were. Left-handed people have even been thought to be evil.
It does exist in human nature, and always has, so whether it is right or wrong is just a value judgment placed on it by the predominating society of the time. Hopefully, our society will become more enlightened and accepting of the homosexuals in our society, because they live amongst every one of us, they are our brothers, sisters, children, neighbors, and they are on our television every night, on the radio, work at the local store, whatever.
Some people may argue that killing has also always existed throughout society, so why aren't murderers okay by my standard? Well... murderers hurt society, whereas homosexuals within our society pay taxes, make valuable contributions to society, and overall seem to really make this world more colorful, you know, with their rainbow of pride and all. I think it's wonderful to have them around and I wish that our modern society would stop treating them like second-class citizens.

People feel that way because in the New Testament books of the bible it indicates that it is wrong for a "man to lie down with another man"...so in most traditional Christian religions it is considered a sin as stated in the bible. Other cultures also believe it is a sin too. This is a perception, and if you believe it is a sin, then that is your belief. Religion can be used for good and bad. It can be used to enlighten you, or to condemn you - so that is part of the perceptive ideaology of religion.
