Hmmmm, a little bit anyway, and it depends on the guy. For me, the 'victory' at the end isn't any sweeter for the chase. But I'm also a big slut, so I don't lose any respect for women who give in, or leap in, on the first date.
The biggest reason I'd say to make them wait a little bit, is to get to know who they are. Just because all the sparks are flying, doesn't guarantee that he's still going to be wonderful in the morning. Better to make them wait a little to see if they are still there for the next date.

To some extent, yes. We enjoy the hunt, but we hunt for what we think we have a reasonable chance at getting...for instance I may be willing to go fishing, or even deer hunting if I'm really ambitious, but going on safari to try to fell a lion is out of the question. I would give up long before I got close. So, don't be a lion unless you know you've got a lion-hunter on your hands, or unless you intend to be unattainable.
