Ok, so I want to serenade this girl that means a lot to me... so judging by today's standards will that be considered corny and antiquated? What would you think of a guy, that even if he is not your b/f he still means the world to you, serenading you? The follow up to that question would be that I don't know how to sing all that well... so what will it be better for me to serenade her myself or just hire somebody to do it for me? Cause I was thinking of having two of my friends on the guitars and me on the acoustics and giving it my best on vocals... how does that sound?

Thanks for your advise

Well, with technology nowadays, serenading has been a thing of the past. But if I was the girl, I'd definitely melt if a guy took time to serenade me. It doesn't matter if you think your voice is not meant for A.I., the important thing is that you made the girl feel special and you went the extra mile to show that to her by making your feelings public. And it shows that you're not ashamed to tell her in front of everyone else that you truly care for her.

I think its okay to bring friends along, just make sure that they're there to support you 101% and not steal the spotlight which should be on you as you serenade the Apple of your Eye.

I was serenaded by my boyfriend once, and although he wasn't quite the singer, I was very touched and my heart felt like bursting in elation. And guess what? He's my husband now. ;-)

Best of luck to you! :)

I would be very embarassed to be serenaded, whether in public or private. I'm sure some girls would like it though so try to base it on her personality. Is she a huge romantic? Does she love romantic movies? Then she might like to be serenaded in private.

Is she outgoing and not easily embarassed? Is she independent minded? Will she be loud or crazy in public and not care what other people think? Then she might like to be serenated in public.

Either way, it's a sweet gesture and whether she likes it or not, she'll almost definitely realize that it took a lot of courage for you to do it. If she seems shy, though, maybe a poem and some flowers instead ...

I think it is incredibly romantic. Serenade her with your voice, or even Karaoke, But don't let your friend(s) sing for you. The effort you make will be seen as sweet, sincere and very loving. If you have your friends on guitars, and you doing the vocals, the girl will be knocked off her feet. Long live romance !!!

I think if you are going to do it you should go it alone. Because it is something you are doing for her so why have anyone else involved. I would find it a bit nerdy to be serinaded but I would be completely flattered and my heart would probably melt a little...good luck. Kudos for the original personal touches you put into romance this girl will be lucky even if you can't sing because it is the thought that counts and the feelings behind it that matter.

Wow, there are romantic men out there still..

I have a guy friend that wrote me a song. He plays guitar well, but his voice is not the best I heard. But once he started playing and singing that song, and I realized it was totally about me, I cried and his voice is the perfect voice for his song.

If a girl thinks that's corny, then she is not the right girl for you.

Start a band and invite her to join. Then you can serenade her all the time! That's sort of what I did only backwards - the band sort of started itself, then I sort of fell in love with our keyboard player, and we sort of started locking ourselves into the choir loft of the church where we rehearse (we do classical music with organ, see), and I sort of proposed to him on New Year's Eve 2004 after a performance... Sound like a plan?

Write her a song instead. You don't want to sound foolish since obviously you and this girl aren't "together" But the sentiment is sweet and would make most women swoon in seconds! Bravo

it's "advice" we're giving... *wink*

As for the serenade, I'd be slightly embarrassed by it, but think it was sweet...the intent is what matters but don't make it a looooong song no matter how well you sing...people can take public humiliation for only so long...lol!

Good luck!
