Hi,

I know this may sound like a silly question but I have never driven outside of my state.

I am a 100% U.S. citizen my girlfriend is an illegal alien. We are going to drive from Southern California to Arizona in August.

Will we have any problems at the state borders because she has no papers?

Thanks

-J

I don't think is a good time to travel, because they are checking everyone because of this illegal immigration thing,If you ever get stoped they are going to ask both for Id (If they think she is a illegal immigrant) and even though she could say she left her id at home, That is not working any more. I know it's wrong they should just believe that..Lol but not no more, they will ask her for other info like "well what is your social number since you don't have your id with you" or stuff like that and they could actually take her until they find out if she is a illegal immigrant or not,and once they have found out ,they will deport her. so be careful if you decide to travel,no speeding, plus they could even stop you with any excuse just to make shure there is no illegals in the car,yes they are getting really strict. I know there is no border crossing states, just a sign saying welcome to Arizona but it is still a big risk. Good luck to you and your girlfriend.

Ps. You should married her so she could become a usa citizen if you love her.

There is a boarder check between Cal and AZ, but I'm not sure what they do. Every time I've been on that road it has been closed and people just go through. It could just be for trucks with cargo or somthing. She could get deported if she ran into any law enforcement types, but I think she would have to basically admit that she is an illegal. As long as she is not driving, breaking a law / getting arrested they have no way of knowing that she is an illegal, as far as I know there is no law that says people in the US have to carry ID, so unless she is doing something that would require having an ID (Like driving) or doing something that would cause her to get arrested (Where they would confirm her identity) if she says she left her ID at home or lost it I doubt they could do much to her.

Well, if they crossed the national border illegally, I really don't think a state border is a challenge for them.

Unless the state troopers have a check point, where they're checking for ID's or citizenship papers, no one is going to know.

the only way this could artwork is that if the U. S. have been to repeal the 14th substitute, installation ENGLISH in basic terms and then with your hypothetical concept in place, alongside with the situations, it ought to be feasable. There could be an upside wherein most of the illegals right here now could voluntarily go away. Illegals could get their government/s to stress Obama to dish out the freebies unconditionally like they are used to doing. Amnesty isn't = to Citizenship. Mexican Illegals at the instant are not drawn to being human beings. till the U. S. government stops taking orders from considered necessary and South united states of america, Illegals will proceed to apply the U. S. as an ATM and hold their individual citizenships.

Haven't you heard the President's agenda? There are US Troops stationed throughtout the southeastern US. Since she's an illegal, it doesn't matter that she'll cross US territorial states, if she's caught, she'll go to detention and be deported, unless she has existing warrants in the US for criminal activity. If that's the case, she'll do time here then get deported.

Come on man, make her happy: marry the girl! Do the stand-up thing.

Becareful though, the goverment is cracking down on those southern states.

Actually, to the person who said there are no border patrol posts, that is not true to California. For reasons of agriculture (think med-fly) there are border posts where you drive through and they usually stop you (well, me) peer into the car, smile at the kids, ask if we have any produce or domestic animals, and wave us on our way.

Sometimes they have someone out of the car on the side of the road. I always figured they were orange smugglers or something, but who knows.

In case you don't know our nimrod president decided to form the N.A.U. this will open up all of America's borders. Expect a flood into America with the likes like you have never seen.

Bush has eliminated America and formed it into a N.A.U. I guess Bush isn't so tough on terrorist's and illegal immigrants after all. For more information on the N.A.U and how Bush is a traitor to America click on this link from a republican conservative magazine. http://www.humanevents.com/article.php?id=15497

There are no border controls between US States. Your girlfriend's status is illegal and would not become any more (or less) illegal by virtue of crossing into another State.

Not likely unless you get stopped for a felony near the border.

Living in So. California I am surprised she doesn't already have her drivers license.

Better get her some I.D. in next 36 months before they institute the new U.S. National I.D. stamp for all drivers licenses. Or get your passport so you can go back to wherever she is from.

yeah they will probably shoot both of you.

ROTFLMAO.

No, there are no borders checks between states, just a little sign on the side of the road saying Welcome to Arizona when you cross the border.

However, if you get close to the American/Mexico border OR you get pulled over for speeding or something, she is in fact illegal and anything is possible.
