I try to be kind to everyone, and forgive those who do me wrong. It is harder at times to do but for the most part I try.
I know some very dear people, that I love and will always be there for and a few are Mormon, Catholic, Lutheran, Jewish, and some are non believers. I pray for them all, and I will never say anything against them, I love them. They know what I believe, they respect me. I just try to let the Lords light shine through me. I also ask the Lord to use me as His instrument. I don't know if I answered your question, just tried to share my experience

You just explained why I am not a Christian. Too many Christians teach hatred instead of love. Just think of the religious wars carried out in the name of Christ. The Crusades, approved by the Pope; the 30 years war; the colonization and destruction in 'converting' the indigenous populations of American to Christianity; the massacre of Jews throughout history - the list goes on and on and the only explanation I was ever given when I attended 'organized' christian churches was that 'mistakes' were made. Yet the bigotry continues just look at Northern Ireland where the Catholics and Protestants hate each other and where the flames were fanned for ages by American Catholics.
If you ever visit the holy sepulcre in Jerusalem you will be shocked at the animosity that different Christian sects openly display to each other at the site where they say Christ was buried.
Nietzsche said that the last Christian died on the cross I think he was being only slightly ironic.

We are commanded to love so I certainly try to obey, and I think I do a good job. I've never been one to cram my beliefs down anyone else's throat. Generally if you treat others with kindness and love, they'll come to you with questions. Too often believers come on too strong and push unbelievers even further away. Any who claim to follow Christ who act not in love are deluded or lying, and though they don't know it the unbeliever is watching, and so is God.

It is up to each man of his own free will to find god ( god wants people who have belief by faith and not fear).
All men want the same things out of life, live free, love & be loved, be happy and work to support himself and his family doing the things that he likes.
It is when one man or a group of men set themselves up as the arbitrator of whats right and true in your personel & religious life that the problems begin.

Love based on feelings is not really love at all.
If you only love someone if it feels right it means that you are judging him or her worthy of your love. This is only judgment, not love.
Jesus asked us to love our neighbor.
Notice that there is no except for in his statement. He obviously intended for us to love everyone all the time. This universal application of love is the only true meaning of love.
At first this had me a bit confused. It seemed as though Jesus was saying that it was not right for me to reserve a special love for my children and others close to me.
I meditated and ask Jesus to give me an answer to this misunderstanding that I was having. The answer came clear as a bell. I was not being asked to love my children any less. He was asking me to love everyone else just as much as I loved my children.
Was I embarrassed, how had I missed it for so long?
Love and blessings

there's a lot of truth in your post...for a lot of people, the only Bible they will ever read is written in the lives of Christians they meet. and in the eyes of those who don't believe, every 'mistake', 'misstep', or 'lapse of judgment'-whatever the politically correct term for screwing up is these days-is magnified...and who wants to listen to someone try to tell them about a better way of life if there's no sign of positive change?

The offending thing on here is the foul language, and other people telling us how dumb we Christians are. We shall see, shan't we?
