I asked my vetinary friend about this so she tried an experiment on an anaesthetised cat who was in for a gall stone operation, it turned out that the cats bottom is much too soft to get a good grip on the pencil and nowhere near ebrasive enough to serve as a pencil sharpener.
In conclusion it is my belief that any inventer would have abandoned the idea for the pencil sharpener at this point had they been inspired by a cats bottom.

That would make a great novelty gift... lift cat's tail, insert pencil.... I'm not sure how cat lovers would receive it but you could make a lot of money with that idea, that is if someone else isn't already racing to the patent office with it. You should keep your potentially lucrative intellectual properties to yourself until AFTER you get them copyrighted or patented dude.
