My family recently moved to the country where we have a dug well. The water is turning our tea/coffee cups black, as well as the inside of our toilets. I was wondering if it was black mold. Does anyone know if it is & what I should/could do about it? Our water is suppose to be safe to drink & none of us are sick, but it is worrying us a little. Thanks! :)

Just to be safe for you and your family have it tested by your State Health dept. Also ask them the minimum depth of a dug open well.In NY its like 16 feet minimum.Driven or dug.I perfer driven well 50 feet or more,60 to 80 feet is ideal. Then if it's OK,then put in a particle filter. The best is a ceramic micron filter.1.5 Microns, bacteria and protozoa are 5 to 8 Microns in size.Just once in awhile pull it out
and scrub it clean and bleach it.Then your good to go,to the next check-up.If your well is contaminated 1 or 2 gallons of bleach will kill all bacteria.then run all taps to flush the pipes.Be safe not sorry, its your family.
