Your credit report is updated about a week or two after your billing cycle ends for a particular line of credit. If you have several cards with different due dates, that means that they are reporting your new balance at different times during the month. Your credit score will probably adjust once a month. Typically you would want to check your score at the end of each month.

It can vary based on how often companies report to the credit bureau. It's more often than not done only quarterly. If you feel there is something wrong on your credit report, or something that neesd to be updated immediately just initate a dispute by calling any of the bureaus, and usually the problem is resolved in approx 2 weeks.

Theoritically a credit bureau can add information to it every single day. It depends when the creditor sends information to the credit bureau. Some do on the 1st of the month. Some on the 2nd and so on. You can update faster (i assume you want to show good payment history or drop something negative) thru a process called rapid rescoring. This is done instantly online and available to companies that do credit repairs and also to mortgage brokers and lenders.

To see when a particular creditor will send info to the credit bureau you can go to www.creditboards.com and look in their database. Put the name of the creditor you want to see when they report and they will tell you when.
