24 month size clothing isn't as long in the torso as 2 Toddler. Toddler clothes have more room for the pooch of a tummy toddlers tend to have.

Here is what I always noticed. The 24m clothing always had the snaps, or some kind of access for a diaper. Where the 2T was made more for the fully functional potty user.

A 2T is made with a slightly smaller waist and a smaller butt area. A 24m has a slighter larger waist and butt area to allow for a diaper.
A 2 T is usually a bit longer in the legs also.

Good question!! It goes like this:

0-3 months
3-6 months
6-9 months
12 months (for age 9-12 months)
18 months (for age 12-18 months)
24 months (for age 18-24 months)
2T (for age 2-3 years)
3T (for age 3-4 years)

I found it so confusing when they stopped putting the age range on clothes (i.e. 6-9 months) and just put "12 months" which really means "up to 12 months." So, basically, your toddler should wear the 24 month clothes from age 18 months until his/her 2nd birthday. After that, 2T's. Of course every kid is different so, in the end, just buy what fits!!

24m clothes tend to be shorter in the length of pants and arms and 2T pants tend to have less room for a diaper. It also depends on the brand.

24m clothing usually still has snap crotch and is a little shorter than 2T but in some lines of clothing there is no difference.

yes they are different. Not by much and not usually noticed.

2T is a little larger around and is a little longer.

Most kids are in the in between the two. One fits better and then others don't.

My daughter fit 2T better cause she is skinny and very tall for her age. 24 mos. just was a little to short.

Go with what you feel is better for your child.

I hope this helps

Toddler sizes are usually a bit more narrow, as toddlers have usually started thining out, where as babies tend to be more round still.

Pants might be a bit longer, too. I've almost always just skipped 24 months, and went straight to 2T.

No difference really but it's a good question. I'm thinking they end the size at 24 months and start the same size at 2T. If that makes any sense and I don't know why they just don't start at 3T?
