dogs: leeches?

Question

i have two dogs...we often let them run out in the mountain (they know their way home). They often get leeches. I thought it was normal, like when they run through the mountains the leeches would attach themselves but a friend told me it's unsual to get leeches so often? is this true? should i have my dogs checked?

Leeches would be from them playing in the water, and it is kinda gross and they can get diseases from the leeches.
Have them checked and when you do, ask the vet his or her opinion about letting them run loose in Leech-Land.

I am surprise you did not take them to the vet to get them checked out from having the leeches on them so often. And, where are the running to in the mountains where the leeches are?

Its unusual for an inside dog to get leeches. But if you let them run aroud outside, it should be fine, just make sure that you wipe your dogs down with rubbing alchohol to kill the leeches. Some leeches carry diseases

You should bring your dogs for a checkup asap. Goodness know what kind of strange illness the leeches can spread to the dogs.
