I hear ya. After reading those answers, here is what I think:
Ignore the ones who tell you about starving babies and you won't help yourself or accept help, bla, bla, bla. Obviously, they don't get it. Sad how many otherwise intelligent people are so ignorant when it comes to mental health, isn't it?
The ones who tell you to call someone, etc. are on the right track, b/c it's not good to be alone when you feel like that. Anyone you talk to can help. It was good to get on here and talk about it. Now try to talk to someone else who can provide better help b/c there are some jerks on here.
Shrinks may not be the answer, but maybe they are. Maybe it's a different med. Maybe not. Maybe you just need a good friend who understands you. My shrink doesn't help me either but it's something to do on an occasional Saturday, you know? Lol.
Here is one thing that helped me, and I hope you don't take offense to me saying this. It always helps me, so I thought I'd share the idea. Besides talking to someone, how about praying? God understands b/c He made you and He knows you better than anyone else does, and even better than you know yourself. Sometimes when I am alone and I have nobody to talk to and I'm so upset that all I can do is cry, then that is what I will say to Him, or I will ask Him to help me, b/c I am just at the end of my rope. And then I do begin to feel better.
*Hugs*...it isn't worth dying over. You DO matter. I am listening. Others here listened. Sometimes things can seem so bad one day, and so much better the next day. Don't give up.

Try another shrink. You will find one that fits. I suffered from many years of anorexia and bulimia. I have scars up and down my arms that people constantly ask me about. I have had numerous hospitalizations and shock treatments for my depression. I started drinking to ease my depression but it just got worse. I went to AA and I met a great guy there and am now married with a new baby. If I did jump off the bridge on that dreadful dark day then I would never know the joy that I now have. Life gets better. Things change. Just get help.

Hello; you know gosh is a funny word to use. Don't think that suicide the right answer. There is a lot of things you can do with your time than think about offing yourself. I tried once was in hospital, then got locked up for about 10months that sucked. I look at my arm and see the scar everyday and feel regret. Its was 16 years ago. Now sort of happy, married, crappy job, nice wife, good dog and I'm talking to you so I guess things are good. Don;t talk to many people about I'm not so good with words but you are so talk to anyone who will listen.

Maybe you should talk to God and maybe you will find your inter self because you just have not found your self yet,so search for yourself and you will find the answers, because no one knows you better than yourself, trust me, i have been there and attemted many many times, but i found that the only thing that works is talking to our heavenly father because he will be the only one that will give you inner peace, i know because i have been fighting for custody of my kids and is has been a hard battle and suicide has been in my life for a long time i thought that it was the only way out until i put my faith in our heavenly father, and if you don't belive me our struggle has come out on top and we are going to win and i have found my innerpeace, God is not judgementle he loves you just the way you are, it does not matter what other people think of you because they are lost to they just don't admit it. Trust me it is the only way. Just go in a quiet place and ask God to give you peace and he will. I have been sleeping better and trust me i thought that prayer was just hopeless but i am winning the custody battle and only God our heavenly father has brought me through. Just have faith my dear. it will work out wonderfully for you i promise, the key to this is faith, it is hard to keep but just ask God to take over because the burden is to heavy for you to carry and he will. You don't even have to tell anyone about it just do it or at least try, what do you have to loose. I promise this will work if you just try. Good luck! if you ever need someone to talk to I am here every night I will find you because God will direct me.

there are people starving in etheopia, baby girls being killed in china, women and children being murdered in middle eastern countries. all would gladly switch with you. look outside, it's the only thing that works. as bad as you have it, you can make your reality better. learn to be your own best friend and get creative, express yourself. try community service. do things that make you feel wanted to yourself. there is hope. there is life. there is love. go out to the woods and marvel at a miracle. view a sunset. bake for someone. start a journal of good things. don't be the one to give up on yourself, you are beautiful and you are here. you exist. and you have purpose on this planet.

Hey. I feel for ya. i have been at that point, but not anymore. Nothing and noone is worth taking your own life over. blank them. I am broke 99% of the time in life. Cannot work. Am sick. It really stinks!! But.. there are people who care and I care. I had to care about me and like me. and yes, calling those numbers can help. you are right. some of them make you feel worse, like they don't get it, but keep trying till you get one who seems to have their head on straight. i went to the ER once and a man was called in and you know what, he connected with me and he was nice and wasn't an idiot. i will pray for you. beleive me, life is the choice. i have been through much much worse than being broke. like right now, my 18 yr. old daughter is headed for iraq. i cold bawl over it or i can stick around for her. please, do not think i do not feel like your life is not important, because i know that what you feel right now is real, but it does get better. you have to believe that. call someone!!!

what do you want us to say. you arent gonna get better if you dont make an effort to. what in your life is so terrible to the point of taking your life. ive dealt with depression all my life my life has been FULL of struggles, but i got through each and every obstacle that life threw at me and came out at the end a little wiser. their are people out their willing to listen but your not looking, anymore. and your right people wont understand us. just as we dont understand them but ending your life wont solve anything and you will leave this world as a person who gave up.
