I am a dog trainer in California. Many people believe that the smaller breeds like Yorkie's are harder to train but this is just not true, the fact the you don't notice straight away and catch them in the act is the problem. Punishing your dog after the fact or even rubbing their nose in it does no good. Your poor little Yorkie will then start to believe that it is bad to use the bathroom anywhere let alone in the wrong or right places. Only yell if you catch her in the act and yell by making loud noises to distract her then grab her and run outside. Never leave her unattended and if you are not around you should put her in a create. Never punish her by putting her in he create, this should be a happy place with her toys and bones etc. It just takes hard work.... but don't give up, every dog can be trained!!

Try getting some stain and oder remover, and steam clean the areas that the Yorkie has been going. This will break down the ammonia in the stool so she can't smell the areas she has gone. Then I would try set feedings. Once in the morning before you go to work, take her outside, and do the same at night. This would stop her from eating all day, and not having anyone to take her outside. If this doesn't help, they have potty training classes at petsmart for $15.

If the things other people are suggesting doesnt work then you might want to try what I did with my dog, Training to go on a pad that you put on the floor or you could use newspaper. I think this works with smaller dogs a lot better than going out side. You do basicly the same thing as you do if you were training her to go out side but just keep putting her on the mat and making her stay untill she goes (it might be awhile) then when she does make a hudge deal out of it like she is the best dog ever and when ever she has an accident yell no and you might want to put her nose in it. but then bring her and put her on the pad and dont let her leave for a few mins and when you do let her off dont touch her or look at her. Make sure she understands you arent happy with where she went. just keep doing it and I think its a lot easyier than training them to go outside.I hope you get her trained soon with which ever method you use.

Why not use a litter pan with her scent in it. Get Clumpable cat litter or cedar chips and a kitty pan...next time she has an accident take her and the mess to the pan. My mother in law had one for her two yorkies they are stubborn. Good luck

Bring a little treat with you when go outside with her. When she does pee or poop, reward her with treat and say good girl, but dont overly excited. Try to go for walks more often, dont let her pull you on leash, build up a leader relationship with your dog, when you took her out, don't let her sniff wherever she wants, hold on her leash until you feel like letting her go and do her business, then stay there and let her start sniffing the ground. Wait until she start pee/ poop there.

With my Yorkie-Poo, I had to be consistent in my training.
Every few hours I had to take her out on the grass and say "go potty", When she would go I would praise her and give her a treat.
But consistently taking her outside was KEY. Their Royality you know!

You have to scold her. Stick her nose in her mess and hit her. I know its hard but its the only thing thats helps. Then through her outside. I also put a bell on my door so my dog rings it whenever she has to go outside.

I suggest paying for professional training. My yorkie was not trained until the day she died.
