Why are (we the black people) killing each other.?

I think this goes for all people living in poverty, not just black people: I think that to find the reason for this you have to look at the bigger picture, which is poverty. A lot people, black and white, live in poor neighborhoods, and feel unappreciated by society. When people feel this feeling of alienation, they may turn to the streets for acceptance, in the form of gangs. This leads to violence, and as one of the other users said, if a person lives in a black neighborhood with other black gangs, they will be killing other black people.

I think the only way we can stop the violence is to stop poverty. The programs like medicaid and welfare give people money, but not enough for them to rise from poverty and do the things they need to do to be productive in society (move to a better area, go to college).

In Cleveland, Ohio, we have a group of citizens that call themselves the "Black on Black Task Force". They are determined to stop the crimes African Americans are commiting against each other. In spite of their efforts, the crime rate is not dropping.

But I think the reason is simple.

If you are going to kill you neighbor, as many criminals do, you kill your neighbor. If you live in an all black neighborhood and you kill your neighbor, you kill another black person. Perhaps if financial situations allowed blacks to live among whites in greater numbers, we would see fewer black on black crimes and more white on black and black on white crimes.

I don't know, but I'd feel better if blacks started killing more of us. Especially the ones who voted Bush/Cheney.

I'm Shawnee and very glad I'm only half-white. This current administration makes me ashamed to have any white blood at all. If someone decides to drain it for that fact alone someday, I forgive them in advance and I fully understand.

We do it for the following reasons:
1) We have to see our people succeed in anything other than drugs, sports or rapping
2) The media ignores our deaths so that forms the thought of no cares about a black person
3) prison is better than freedom
4) death is better than life
5) lack of education
