It's possible. If the "vintage" phone is not modular, you'll need to modify the wiring to bridge the ringer across the phone line. Also, if for some reason the ringer is not compatible with the ringing scheme, then it won't ring. That could be because of wrong frequency or REN (Ringer Equivalence Number) being too high for the equipment. Worst case, if you can hear the other phones ring, you can still answer and talk on the phone and the pulse dial may let you call out.

I still have one, but it is no longer hooked up...
It is a funny pale green colour... And has a place to change the volume for deaf people My mom was hard of hearing

I do. I find it easier to dial and I like retro things. However I do have to use my other phone when I have to press one, press two when calling places that have automatic systems.
