I have a four year old boy and he often whines like a little girl. It is so annoying! I give him time-outs and sometimes spank him for misbehavior, but it seems to solve the problem for two minutes lol.
Any suggestions on what I should do?

You created the whiner by responding to his whining. How do you undo it? by stop responding to it.

I still think the Ooone. Twwooooo. THREE! works the best. However, the only way it works is by making sure that if you utter any sound of the "THREE!", that the consequences will ALWAYS 100% of the time be there. Whatever consequences you have, JUST BE CONSISTENT.

Whine back at him, he will see how annoying it is. I'm serious and it worked for a friend. If that fails, I would flat out tune him out when he whines. Refuse to acknowledge him and trust me that will work. My daughter knew whining would get her nowhere because I have 0 tolerance for that. At this age, my daughter would wait til I got on the phone and would get anything she wanted. Little manipulator. LOL.

Whatever he says when he is whining, ignore it. Try saying something like 'Did I hear something? I can't hear you properly if you whine.' Not getting his own way if he whinges is the best way for him to learn to stop.

Ignore the whining and go do what you have to do. Eventually he will give up. Don't reward him just to shut him up.

you have to learn to ignore it...my spoiled niece used to cry all the time...until she got what she wanted...not with me... when she pulled that with me...i put everything away...even her shoes.....after a while she even stopped crying when i just showed up. get him involed in something when this happens. i know you may not have all the time in the world, but tyr it with something he likes, then when he starts whinning take all his belongings and put it away...only on good behavior he gets one of them, it starts again ...put it away.
