Your friends problems probably go much deeper than her weight.
She may be depressed, have a chronic illness, be over stressed, have problems at home, etc.
She needs a doc checkup, and an appointment with a counselor.
And a friend that loves and cares for her just how she is and doesn't keep on her about her weight! Be supportive!

Your friend knows she is overweight. It's not up to you to tell her and criticize her. The more negative remarks you make, the less likely she is to lose the weight. She might even gain more because she's sad about the things you're saying. If you're her friend, let her know you love her no matter what.

please dont tell her she is overweight. Please ask her to go swimming with you. (once shes in the water no one will see her if shes a bit paranoid herself.). Or a nice shopping trip where you can try out all the perfume or make up.Or a girlie evening of doing hair and nails. There is so much nice food around and so much hard life to get through we need to find the non eating bits in life that are worthwhile. Its all too easy to get trapped in the i feel miserable so ill eat. And your telling her so , being her friend will only serve to make her MORE miserable

Honestly...I think your friend knows she has a weight problem, and trust me, she's listening to you! She is just so upset with herself and is probably trying to do soemthing about it and hearing things from you, even though you are trying to help, reminds her about it again. Just stay supportive and try not to bring it up, once she's ready, she will come to you for help.

Maybe she's happy with her body for now. Why not just try being her friend instead of trying to make her be someone she's not? She doesn't have to be skinny. You can suggest that you all work out together, if you'd like, but don't be judgemental. She is probaby self concious enough.

Newsflash:I am sure your friend knows she has a weight problem! And she even probably knows how to correct it.
As a friend all you can do is be there to support her! Overweight or not

She has to want to lose weight. You can't tell her anything...you need to love her and accept her for who she is. She knows that she's over weight. Leave her alone!

At this point there is nothing you can do about it, so stop bugging her. She is probably in denial, and anything further you say will push her further. Be supportive of diet changes and whatnot, but don't push, and DON'T nag!
