I try to feed my dog meat and dog food but he just won't eat it. he just wants veggies. Is that unhealthy for him?

No it's completly normal. Dogs are just like humans. Humans choose what they like to eat so do dogs. So if the don't like it they don't eat it. If they do like it then obivously they eat it.

I know some dogs who like veggies. It can be unhealthy for him if that's all he eats, dogs need certain nutrients that can only be found in commercial dog foods. They make vegetarian dog foods, but you should check with your vet before buying one, not all of them have the right nutrients. Keep experimenting with different dog foods until you find one he likes. Also, I heard once that carrots are the best vegetable for dogs and they also clean their teeth. And I know you didn't say anything about fruit, but never give your dog raisins or grapes, they have something in them than can be fatal to dogs and cats.

I would ask the vet next time you take him. Mine loves carrots raw and cooked. I think its the sugar in them. Most all dog foods have vegitables in them. As long as its not losing weight I would say its doing fine.

yes it´s weird but veggies r also good for ur dog so tyry to combine meat and veggies and it´ll make him good

Some breed of dogs like vegs more than others.
But I'm pretty sure its a vitamin deficiency.

in small amounts add some quality COOKED meat, never raw!
possibly some hamburger,grated cheese,along with the bites of vegetables. my dachshund enjoys gnawing on raw carrots.....cleans her gums and teeth to boot........good luck....sharon t from cedar point ohio
