They are fighting as light heavyweights. Charles was considered one of the best light heavyweights of all time. He fought five light heavyweight champions and beat four of them, even though he never challenged for the crown. Spinks went undefeated as light heavyweight champion and was at one time the only light heavyweight to win the heavyweight crown

Ezzard Charles was vastly underated as a heavyweight and knocked out the legendary Archie Moore as a Lgt Heavyweight in a non title bout or before Archie became champion. Ezzard also gave Marciano a tough fight their first fight and actually stood toe to toe with the Brockton Blockbuster before losing the decision. Spinks outpointed Larry Holmes to win the Heavyweight title though I believe he lost the rematch in my opinion. I think that Ezzard wins a close decision over Spinks in this classic match. Great question!

Ezzard Chales was one of the greatest fighters of all time, as a middleweight, lightheavyweight, and heavyweight, a great fighter.Charles fought many fighters during the 1940's , Archie Moore, beat Moore 3 times, among other greats. Nicknamed The Cinncinatti Cobra had a record of 99 wins 25 losses and 1 draw. Spinks had a record of 31 wins and 1 loss. No comparison Charles by majority decision in 15 rounds.

Bro, Gene Tunney became demanding and robust brawling skills yet had a good chin and underrated protection. Ezzard Charles became a beast at lightheavy. I rank Tunney a much better mild heavyweight yet while based of style i think of the certainly greater helpful Ezzard would win by using an intensive determination!

Ezzard Charles faced far greater fighters than Spinks, plus he was a better boxer. Charles wins, no doubt.
