They'd probably say no, but I think yes, they do. Catholics ask her to intercede for them with Jesus.
If you're praying to her, you worship her.

No Catholics do not worship the Virgin Mary. Like some people said, they honor her and recognize her as the Mother of Jesus Christ.

Invoking Mary used to be considered heretical and was labeled as the cult of the Virgin Mary. I guess the heretics won out because praying to and honoring Mary is a common aspect of the Catholic Church.

No, Catholics do not "worship" the Virgin Mary but we do hold the world's first Christian in high regard.
Catholics share the belief in the Communion of Saints with many other Christians, including the Eastern Orthodox, Anglican, and Episcopal Churches.
The Communion of Saints is the belief where all saints are intimately related in the Body of Christ, a family. When you die and go to heaven, you do not leave this family.
Everyone in heaven or on their way to heaven are saints. You, me, my deceased grandmother, Mary the mother of Jesus, and Mother Teresa.
As part of this family, you may ask your family and friends here on earth to pray for you. Or you may also ask the Blessed Virgin Mary, Saint Andrew, or your deceased grandmother in heaven to pray for you.
If you listen during Mass where the saints are mentioned, then you will hear us asking them to pray for us.
With love in Christ.

No! Catholics honor and praise the Mother of Jesus the Christ. She is called blessed for all generations. The fourth commandment says honor thy father and mother. She being the mother of Christ and the first Christian to recognize the Messiah she is honored as such.
Anti-Catholics want to twist this honor into worship, but that is for God alone. Catholics know this emphatically. Even Martin Luther proclaimed that Mary the mother of Jesus deserved honor and praise for her public witness and affirmation of the Incarnation.
We should imitate her action in relationship to Christ in obedience and submission.

If they do, and I know many a Catholic who does, it goes against the Commandments you know the one that says thou shalt not worship anyone other than me (ok so I don't know it verbatim) and the one that says thou shalt not worship any idols. A lot of catholics have pictures of the virgin mary all over their house (and believe it or not they are idols).

No, we honor and revere her. The prayer "Hail Mary" and "The Magnificant" come straight out of Scripture. All sons love their mothers and why would Christ be any different? When Mary has been seen in an "Apparition" the message she has given has always been "Return to my son." never has she sought to draw attention away from Him. It was even at her prompting that he performed his first miracle. We ask Mary to pray for us and with us nothing more.

they pray to her "the hail mary" once, i saw a sunday school teacher parade a statue of mary around the room and all the kids had to follow it. at that point, it kinda seems like idol worship to me lol.
In my highschool, my christian teacher taught us that mary was sometimes considered the "fourth person of the trinity" how messed is that?
