the abusive parents are insane. Yes I do not mean sick or ill with a disease. they are insane, anyone who could be mean to a baby of any age is insane. But no I have seen some mean mouthed people who are not physically abusive, but the words are just as bad. Some kids have even said they wish their parent would just hit them and be done with it instead of a 24 hour a day litany as to the rotten people they are.

verbal and physical abuse come in handy ... they are best friends.. and if you verbally abuse your child you have more chances of physically hurting him too. Because verbally abusing someone is like having anger management issues. So yes i think its both. The answer to why are there parents like that?. I think this is because they also come form an abusive family and that's the way they were raised and they don't know any better so they repeat the vicious cycle to their kids too. Some ppl manage to brake the chain and become great parents some of them are too soft.. but parents that kill their children? they don't have names... not even a ***** .. would kill her puppies so .. about that all i can say is that hell is here on earth... :( and well.. we cant do anything about it unfortunately. we are not GOD

Some people are f'ed up in the head. Parents shouldn't cuss, insult, or physically abuse kids. They don't always go hand in hand.

There are 2 positions in this debate that i think of are the two ignorant and incorrect headed: a million. all spanking, no count how that's accomplished, is baby abuse. The is stupid. baby abuse is a legally defined term and notice you later as spanking keeps to be criminal, that's no longer baby abuse. it must be pointless, it ought to do greater harm than solid, it must be hypocritical, despite. despite if that's no longer, by using definition, baby abuse. 2. Spanking is the only form of self-discipline, ergo in case you do no longer spank, of course you have out of control young ones because of fact that theres no different thank you to self-discipline. no count in case you elect to spank or no longer, despite, yet while it became outlawed the following day and you probably did no longer have the alternative and you ought to no longer decide an efficient determination, then you suck at this finished parenting element. All appearances to the alternative aside, maximum folk are smart sufficient to work out by using ridiculous extremes.

Speaking only from my own personal experience... verbal and physical abuse don't always go hand-in-hand. My mother was horrible to me, emotionally and verbally. However, she never laid a hand on me.

Not necessarily. But psychological abuse can be a lot more damaging than physical. Both should be kept in carefully controlled limits.

i dont think that they always happen together but for the most part they do. people have all this built up aggression from other people/things and they take it out on thier kids. it is very sad. i could never understand how someone could hurt their child. i mean i know life can be stressful at times but it is not the childs fault. if i am ever feeling frustrated with my daughter i kiss and hug her, she is almost 11 months old, i know it sounds wierd, but it helps me because it reminds me of how much i love her. and if necessary i leave the room for a minute.
