1. Educate the lower and middle income levels. Provide quality liberal arts educations, but for those without the aptitude for liberal arts, provide them with industrial/trade based educations.

2. Create new jobs for at all skill levels.

3. Secure the US borders. As long as the borders are open, there will be a continual flow of cheap labor into the US. Cheap labor will continue to drive down wages, especially in those areas that are largely unregulated. Stop the flow of cheap labor and it will allow American citizens to obtain jobs at more competitive wages.

4. A good economy. During the 1990's, statistically, crime levels dropped significantly. This drop in crime rate has been attributed to a low unemployment rate, higher income levels and a stronger economy. Give someone something to do, and they won't have time to commit crimes.

Require everyone to be armed. Most criminals function on the fact that the populous is defensiveless. A few counties in the country have tried this and violent crime rates dropped dramatically.

Eliminate the ACLU to start.

Forget 15-life terms. The average cost of a prisoner today is above $2,400.00 per month.
Prisons are an educational facility for all criminals. They learn how to excel in their criminal endeavors, and your paying for that.
Any crime 15 years or more should be reverted to a death sentence to be carried out within one year of sentencing.
This would eliminate tens of thousands inmates, reduce the crime rate in and out of prison, and provide society a chance to start living like human beings again.
Does this sound extreme? If so, let me ask you what you would like to see happen to someone that kidnapped you mother, son, daughter or wife. Prior to killing them, they raped, tortured, and dismembered them.
This person has been captured. You are the judge. Whats your verdict?

Go to the root cause.
There are way too many social problems in our age to totally eradicate crime, but they need to be tackled 1 at a time to help phase them out. Racism is still rampant today. I think that it should be a crime to teach children to hate other races. Make it illegal to teach these things.

I think violent crime would be diminished greatly if everyone had enough not just to survive, but to live comfortably...to live in a decent house instead of a broken-down trailer...to be able to go out once in awhile instead of searching the sofa for enough money to buy a loaf of bread...Even the economy would be stimulated because people would have money to spend. My solution is to charge enough of an import tax on goods to persuade people to purchase within the country, creating more jobs and less competition for businesses, who, with the increase in sales, could afford to pay their employees enough to actually help compensate for inflation.

Three strikes & it's a life sentence and no chance of parole.

Public executions ( of death row inmates) would have a great effect on reducing crime.

Make prison sentences much longer for 1st or 2nd offenders.

Kennesaw GA passed a city ordinance that you had to own a gun. Crime has dropped in that city.
If you are a conscientious objector you don't have to own one.
