I strongly strongly STRONGLY urge you to go to a reputable salon, someone with an established clientele, rather than cosmetology grad students at a Fantastic Sam's or some other discount hair place, and that beautician would be able to give you highlights you want without risking your hair falling out. Go to a really and truly trained professional, spend the extra $$ and you will NOT be sorry!! I abso-freakin'-lutely GUARANTEE it!!

Nay, girl, you got it wrong. Only dying your entire head of hair too many times will make it fall out. It won't happen with highlights because those are only a scattered few locks, not your entire head. My brother jokes about that all the time with his friend who died his entire head blonde when he's a natural black hair guy. He tell him if it doesn't fall out first, it'll go to his head, honestly the guy acts like the blonde went there, too. I'm not saying blondes are stupid, but that's how my brother is. Any blondes with objections, I will slug him for you. ^^

It's actually a myth that your hair will fall out if you highlight it! Your hair might be damaged slightly, and it will never be like your original hair...but don't worry! If you get highlights, you definitely won't lose your hair!

You need to get your hair in excellent condition by giving it a deep conditioning treatment. Wait a week or two and then highlight it. Your hair should be okay if you do that. When in doubt, go to the salon. If you screw up at least you have someone to sue. =)

definitely wont fall out!!! even the store bought dying products wont do that, trust me!! it might get a little damaged but if you use a gentle shampoo a few days after the process it'll be ok. then, if it happens to turn out badly, just use the new dove repairing system that you see commercials for on tv. i've tried it and they work FABULOUSLY!!! much better than the ones they sell in the salon.

If it falls out I would'nt take the chance. Is beauty really that important that you'll lose your hair and look horrid for months before it grows back if it grows back?

Go to a professional salon and get it done. You will be glad you spent the extra money and they have stuff there to make your hair healthier.

no it will only fall out if you dye it way too much like once a month you should only dye your hair once every half a year...
