i take strong exception to the Christian dogma that "Jesus is the only begotten son, begotten not made". this is what the Christian is made to repeat from childhood in his catechism. I have asked learned - Christians, again and again as to what they are really trying to emphasize, when they say "begotten not made".

they know that according to their own God-given (?!) records, god has sons by the tons:

"....Adam, which was the son of god." Luke 3:38

"that the sons of god saw the daughters of men that they were fair...

"and when the sons of god came in unto the daughters of men, and they bare children to them...." genesis 6:2&4

"...Israel is my son, even my firstborn:" exodus 4:22

"...for I (god) and a father to Israel, and Ephraim is my firstborn." Jeremiah 31:9

"...the lord hath said unto me, (David) thou art my son: this day have i begotten thee." psalms 2:7

"for as many as are led by the spirit of god, they are the sons of god." romans 8:1

You are correct in saying the angels of heaven are sons of God even as Adam was a “son of God.” (Ge 6:2; Job 1:6; 38:7; Lu 3:38) But the Lo′gos, later called Jesus, is “the only-begotten Son of God.” (Joh 3:18) He is the only one of his kind, the only one whom God himself created directly without the agency or cooperation of any creature. He is the only one whom God his Father used in bringing into existence all other creatures. He is the firstborn and chief one among all other angels (Col 1:15, 16; Heb 1:5, 6), which angels the Scriptures call “godlike ones” or “gods.” (Ps 8:4, 5) Therefore, according to some of the oldest and best manuscripts, the Lord Jesus Christ is properly described as “the only-begotten god [Gr., mo·no·ge·nes′ the·os′].”—Joh 1:18,

It seems that you have forgotten your catechism. There were certain sects that said that Jesus was the first of the creatures
( example, the arrians, Arrius' followers ) and that He had been created. Therefore, came the Council of Nicea, that declared that Jesus was from the same nature as the Father, begotten, not made. Otherwise, it would look that Jesus was not God as well.
I think that you have been reading the Bible without the guidance of a priest. That is illogical and absurd.
It would be like pretending to cure a sick person just by reading a book of Medicine. I think that maybe you have done that as well. Did the patient recovered his health ?
Excuse me, but I would not like to be that patient

Dear Sailor: You and me and all - and Jesus - are the Sons of God.

Jesus serves to bring home the memory of your Father to you which in turn brings home the memory of your Self and what you are. Created by God we are all the begotten Sons of God.

Remember the Separation? Spirit took on the likeness of Man. The separation did not occur in the Garden of Eden. It took place in Eternity in Spirit-Mind. It's a question in itself and I would love to address it if anyone cares to ask about it. When we "became Man" we made each other in our human mind's thinking. Mom and Dad made me.

Since that is the truth, here in Time, in our human forms, Jesus came to demonstrate what we really were. Therefore, in the midst of US, He was as - the only begotten Son.

Truly, we can be nothing but the Holy Sons of God, created or begotten by Him. We are the Kingdom. But, alas, humans experience "making each other," giving birth, and believing in that!

Yes Jesus is a son of God, but he was begotten by Joseph.

The story goes. This guy Joseph was married and he had some kids but he took a fancy to this chick named Mary, but Mary wanted nothing to do with him because Joseph was older and already married. He gave Mary gifts, flatteries, and anything he could imagine but Mary just wouldn't put out. She just couldn't get over the fact that Joseph was already married and had kids of his own. Jospeh was a smart and coniving fellow. See he came from the house of David and his family had a long history of political intrigue so he knew there were ways around any obstacle. So Joseph found a way to get rid of his first wife, but still Mary wouldn't have him. One night Joseph managed to get Mary really drunk over dinner and she finally yielded to him, but to his dismay she didn't rememvber anythign the next morning. She was just as cold as she had ever been to his advances. Time went by and Mary became pregnant. In fear of being socially ostracized she trusted in Joseph who playing on his family connections in the most esteemed House of David he convinced her that she must have been impregnated by God. He also convinced her that they should marry so no one would question her virtue. They married had many more kids and lived happily every after.

A hybrid race? The wording is quite interesting if it is an accurate translation.

Good points.

Jesus was the son of Joe and Mary. Not God. See, God doesnt exist....

Of course, the Christians will tell you that he is not only the son of God, but is also God! Thats pretty cool - Im wondering how I can screw my own mom so that I can give life to myself!

What is meant by only begotten is that Jesus (in his pre-human existence in heaven) was the first creation by God. After that, they created all other things.

No. Jesus was the illegitimate son of Mary. Mary liked to live, so rather than be stoned to death, she claimed her son as the son of God, even though her and Joe were just fcukin around and got preggo. People were stupid back then just like now, they just didn't have big words and toothpicks.
