While searching for Adoptive parents and families, it didn't take long to realize that they we ALL asking for babies. And if they weren't, they usually wanted to adopt people from other countries like Asia, Africa, Haiti and Russia. What about the young people in the United States?

I want to foster possibly adopt teens or handicap children when I get my daughter raised and outta school so that I will be able to devote all my attention to them when the time comes. If a women can't get pregnant and go through the whole mothering experience, etc then they want to adopt a baby to experience as much as they can. It must be hard on women you cant have a baby and ache for one so if I was in their position I would want to adopt a baby also.

I don't understand why they adopt from other countries first tho.....Thats like all these commercials/short shows raising money or getting monthly donations for starving children in other countries.......WE HAVE STARVING CHILDREN IN THE UNITED STATES ALSO>>>>>>>>>>>>>They seem to be of less priority when it comes to raising money to feed starving children.

Babies Are Cuter And Couples Who Can't Have Kids Want To Raise Them From A Baby To An Adult.Otherwise I Have No Clue.Probably Because Teens Tend To Fight And Argue And Don't Adjust Very Well To New Environments And Have Been Tossed Around From Foster Home To Foster Home. And If A teen Gets Mad Then They'd Say Something Like" I Don't Have To Listen To You" "You're Not My Real Mother" Or Something Like That And They Don't Want To Put Up With That.

Most people want to adopt babies because they want the child to know them as their only parents. And because teenagers who have been in the system for a long time seem to have more problems and needs then those who are raised from birth in a loving, controlled home. People who adopt from other countries probably think that those children are in more need then the ones in the US. Although it is very rare, there are some people out there who are willing to give US teenagers a chance. I was adopted by a family when I was 12. My (adoptive) family has a total of 20 children. Four of them are biological and 16 are adopted. Out of all of those only one of them was a baby when my family took him in. They took in children ranging from 2 months to 17 years. They are also foster parents and a lot of those children have been with them for a long time. And I have heard of more and more people who are adopting teenagers. One of my sisters adopted a teenager and also has a teenage foster girl who has been with her for a couple of years. She might be adopting her soon. So even though there are a lot of people who are picky about what age a child is when they adopt them, there are still some out there who are willing to take in older and more challenging children. If a person really cares about what happens to our children and really wants to help, they will. I hope this has helped at least a little.

Usually children that haven't been adopted by the time they are seven have baggage, and its not only a struggle to let them feel you love them but its an issue of previous situations they have had to deal with.(being in and out of foster homes that might not have been ideal) Alot of adoptive parents do not know how to deal with those situations. Its not like it never happens it just takes special people who have the patience and time to deal with an older child. I have four children and I would like to adopt one day, but I am not able to just yet. Keep me in your prayers

United States make addoptions very expensive and very complicated. On the end the birth mother wants the baby back. And the second i understand what you mean, but it is hard to bond with the teenager. So it is tougher and they usually expect a trouble from teens. The word teen scares a lot of people i know.including myself.

well because babies are cute. and it would "feel" closer to having a real child since you'll be raising it while it's still young.

i don't really know why they're getting them from other countries. hmmm maybe babies from asia are much cuter than americans.

and they don't whine that much?

Because they want to have the baby so they can train it how they want it to do and then with teens they already have ways they was raised maybe they was not teached manners so babies you can teach them that

selfishness! people want to raise a child as if there own teens raised in group homes often have coping problems ,low self esteem, and anger.they don't know why there "UN wanted" they just know that they are.
