Your situation is much easier to deal with than you may think. Start by timing yourself during the day - 1) -how long does it take between your first drink in the morning to the time you have to pee - do the test over a week. By then you'll a very clear picture of how long you can go between drink and relief.
If you have no bladder control difficulties during the day then you don't really have much to worry about. A little bit of determination - taking your last drink before a certain hour, and you'll be half way to dry comfort.
I had to deal with a similar concern during my military career - when to have the last drink to avoid having to pee. No, ma'am, it wasn't a bed wetting issue but a war matter - lying in ambush. Since a well trained fighter (enemy or friend) in the African bush/jungle can distinguish the odor of human pee from a mile away - no joke, we couldn't afford to pee once we'd reached the ambush spot.
Wearing a mackintosh/napkin (diaper to Americans) won't cure your affliction. it'll just contain it. What you need is a cure and that I do believe to be training yourself to know how long you can go between drink and bathroom call.
Best of luck to you and sweet dreams.
