please sweetie call the police, they will make a report and that will look good on you in court. The courts are not only for men or not only for women, they are made for people who tell the truth to bring them justice. My childs father was hooked on crack, and still is. I started messing around with it too and it was to a point on whether i wanted to live, or to die. I CHOSE TO LIVE FOR MY DAUGHTER!!!!!!! and if your childs mother cant make that choice, MAKE IT FOR HER!! TAKE YOUR DAUGHTER OUT OF THERE! I promise you it wont go wrong, and you are a good person asking this question. Make the move. GIVE YOUR DAUGHTER LIFE!!!!!

Your responsibly as your daughter's father is protect her and provide for her. Right now it seems you need to step up to the plate and be a father to your daughter.
Contact your local child services department and explain the situation at hand, also you need to find a good lawyer who will help you gain full custody of your daughter.
If you ex is a junkie then you need to act upon this immediately. Your ex could be putting your daughter in very dangerous situations. The longer you wait, the more damage that could be done!!!

Get the law involved. Call the police/child protective services and tell them that you are the biological father and are very concerned about your daughter being in the care of her mother. You want to document that the mother is unfit, as it will give you a better chance to get custody and/or more visitation.
The other thing you should do is get a good lawyer who can help you get your parental rights and/or full custody of your daughter.

Are you listed on the child's birth certificate as her father? If so, go to Family Court and petition to have visitation, especially if you are paying child support.

If you are not listed as your daughter's father, have a paternity test done.

You don't need a lawyer in the initial stages at Family Court, but if you are eligible for Legal Aid, you should go for it.

IF you are paying child support, it will look better for you.

You have to decide whether you want to take care of the child on a full-time basis, and what is right for your child.

Good luck.

The only leagal way sounds like you would need to get a lawyer and go through the court. For either full custody or visits. For full custody you would need to prove why you make a better parent than she. Needs to be a good one because she is the mother and they get a higher priority than the father. Usually. Good Luck!

Wether youre married and divorced, or a parent out of wedlock, you can sue for custody of your daughter on the grounds of drug abuse and possible child abuse. These are the 2 main reasons that a mother loses custody in divorce court. You must have concrete evidence of such, like police reports or medical records, if you cant get them, have the court subpaena them. Good luck

Do you have visitation rights through the court? If you don't - that is something you could do so you can see your daughter regardless of what her mother says. If you do have visitation rights you can have your rights enforced by the court. Either way I would say you need to talk to a lawyer.

Call social services on that junkie, they will send a Social Service Agent to inspect the home and test her for drugs.

Just be prepared to be investigated yourself, also if you're looking for custody, better make sure your name is on the birth certificate or else your lil girl will go to a relative.

Good luck and God Bless your lil girl...*.*...

You need to do what's best for your daughter. Would you provide the right kind of home for her? If so, you should do whatever it takes to get custody. If not, you still need to do what's best for her, and if getting her taken away from her mother means a better life for her in the long run, you need to get a family member, or CPS involved.

ok, you and this "junkie" of a mom have this 6yr old daugher?
and she has custody of this child? how could you let this happen? go take "mom' to court and prove to the judge she is unfit to parent. and get custody; other wise you can get court ordered visitation rights then and they cant stop that. only if you are unfit also.
i would call local juvenile court where i live and get a court date, to get custody of this child. have friends, neighbors and teachers and family prove to the judge this woman is unfit to parent this child. or this child is going to be like her mother and regret you too for not loving her more. and wanting to take her from that he--!!!
the child will take care of mom instead of someone taking care of this child. be responsible and call who ever will listen to you.
and actually by law, you can take the child before going to court. ask your welfare office, for the welfare of this child is lost.!!!!!
