As other people have pointed out, the first three characters look like a phonetic translation of her name. They are pronounced dan ni er (丹尼尔) (ni should be pronounced like "nee" or "knee"). And the last three characters are huai nu hai (坏女孩), meaning bad girl (literally bad/broken-female-child).

To be honest, I don't know whether the expression "bad girl" has the same kind of sexual/adventurous connotations in Chinese as it does in English. It probably does, to a certain extent. A quick google search reveals a movie and songs with the same title, and even references to men ideally wanting a bad-girl girlfriend but a good-girl wife.

However, I think the calligraphy is really awful. It looks incredibly messy and amateurish.

First up this is a cool tatoo isn't it!! the dragon fly is breath taking.

next you are looking at chinese not japanese.

the characters mean:

The first 3 dan ze er Which are in the form of a name but I think it is meant to represent the Chinese sound of the English word ' danger' the last three mean 'bad girl '

hehe you have a tiger by the tail.

good luck
ps don't fly off the handle at her . confirm somehow that that is what she has chosen as the meaning

There is a website where a guy deals with this and explains tattoos and other asian script that is done poorly - and judging from the quality of the calligriaphy, it does not say what she thinks it says.

This is Chinese and using Simplified Chiense letters.

Daniel-spoiled girl
or
Daniel-ruined girl

Probably she want to say she is crazy herself. Should not show this in front of Chinese.

It doesn't make sense, and it's written in simplified chinese, which is harder to read if you don't know it.

Anyways, I think it's a direct translation of a name, yours or hers perhaps. Is your name or her's Danny, by chance? If so, then yea it's just a translation: Da na nay...or something to that extent.

I really do not chat with any chinese people who I hear speak chinese. I don't think I will ever learn how to speak their language!

Why not go to the tattoo shop and ask the guy (or girl) what it means? They might be able to tell you.

The first three word “丹尼尔" are the translation of the name, Daniel.
"坏" means bad.
And "女人" means girl.
