ok here goes....
The wages of sin is death right? that means, to reapy sin, there has to be death. that's the law. In the old testament, to repay sin, they would sacrifice a goat. The goeat would take away the sin, thus creating the term "scapegoat"
However, this system was just a mickey mouse set up, because animals aren't anything special.
Then God sent his perfect son, who was without sin. Since he was perfect, and indeed the son of God, he sacrificed himself for our sin. That is why he is called the "lamb of God" he is a perfect sacrifice that took away all sins, for everybody, forever.

Because noone else could or would. He chose to take the sinful nature of the First Adam to the Tree of Death (The Law) once and for all, so that we may walk forward in the new life of the Last Adam (Jesus Himself) as the Tree of Life.

Jesus didn't win forgiveness of ALL sin--only that which is laid at the foot of His cross, by those who believe and trust in Him. That is, we must repent of our sins before we can receive His incredible forgiveness and salvation. Unrepented sin is still very much with us, sad to say.

Jesus technically didnt have to die on a cross. His death is some what symbolic that he died for our sins so we wouldnt have to. It was just a cross because that was one of the most common forms of execution in Roman times.

"for God so loved the world that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in Him should not perish but have everlasting life!"
-John 3:16

"for He did not come into the world to be ministered to, but to minister!"

"He would be lifted up, that all who believed in Him might live"

God loves you, He desires a relationship with you, He wants to talk to you, spend time with you, be your best friend- Someone to lean on... everything that you never had... everthing that you never desserved.

Jesus came to this earth so you could have your sins forgiven, have a happy, hopefull, moral life, then- spend eternity with someone who loves you enough to be tortured to death for you!!! that's why he died for me!

a blood sacrifice has always been required for the forgiveness of sins. someone perfect (Jesus) HAD to die/ shed blood. that's the only way we live and go to heaven.

Jesus Christ offered the "perfect sacrifice" to God inorder to reconcile the differences btwn. God and man (sin). In the old testament (before Jesus) people would offer dead animals as sacrifices inorder to appease God,but those were never enough for god to forgive humanity....therefore Jesus (God-incarnate) offered up himself and by his blood our sins are forgiven and the heaven is "re-opened" for believers. Jesus defeated death when he ressurected back to life and re-claim his throne as lord and savior off all!! god bless.

John 3:16

"For God so loved the world that he gave his one and only Son, that whoever believes in him shall not perish but have eternal life."

Jesus LOVES us and as an obedient Son, did his Father's will so that WE could all live eternally with Him and the Father in Heaven.

1) Because God loves us and doesn't want to see any of us go to hell.
2) Because God is just, and he cannot allow sins to go unpunished.

Thus, Jesus took our sins upon Himself on the cross and paid the price for them so that we who believe upon Him can be set free from the penalty of sin and become children of God.

did not die on a cross.
he died on a stauros, a stake, it is Greek(stauros)
cross is a continuation from the Latin crux, which was the closest word to stake available in Latin.
Later when the Bible was translated to English, crux became cross, yet this remains a translational error.
Jesus died on a stake, a piece of impaling, which is why they say "he was impaled"(stauroo).

The crucifiction is nothing more than an extreme example. It's value, like the value of any teaching advice, lies soley in the kind of learning it facilitates.

He carried our sins on his back to buy us back to have a chance for everlasting life. God's only begotten son could do this.
