My kids love instant oatmeal especially the flavored kind. They also like cream of wheat.

Well the regular oatmeal is alot better then the instant, but the instant is still healthy. Cereal and bananas is a GREAt breakfast..that is healthy. You could just change cereals and the fruit..intrduce new fruits. Also try whole grain waffles or pancakees. If time is linited just buy the pre- made ones....Just make sure that oyu change her breakfast every day or ever other that is healthy..also make her smoothies....my kids LOVE them...but fresh fruit or the frozen kinfd and add oj to it and yogurt.....that is SOOO healthy....u can give her whole grain toast with jelly with it. good luck

how about scrambled eggs with lots of ketchup? Everything taste better with ketchup. My girls like yogurt with some fruit or just by it's self. How about french toast? Pancakes? I make pancakes on the weekend for our family breakfast. If there are any left over, I freeze them for during the week, then pop them in the toaster. The girls also like oatmeal with a little brown sugar / maple syrup.

Forgot to add...
Don't buy the sugar coated cereal!!! I was listening to a radio show, and he brought up a great point. the sugar coated cereals have about 12 teaspoons of sugar. If you get plain cereal, let the kids add as much sugar as they want, they will never put that much sugar in the bowl because it would taste gross. Plus, if you let them add the sugar, the sugar goes to the bottom of the bowl and they don't really eat it.

Cereal is actually quite healthy. It has plenty of added iron and other vitamins and with the milk and banana she is getting 3 of the 4 food groups. Any food that she likes for other meals is also fine for breakfast. Homemade soup is easy to reheat, as is leftover casserole. fresh fruit and yogurt is fast and easy. Homemade oatmeal only takes a few minutes.

What kind of cereal R they? Pick a healthier cereal and try 2% milk. I think tooo many bananas are not good. Alternate the fruit. Then on the weekends try some "hot" breakfast. I am a mom of 4!

Well, your child is still young. Introduce some variety into her meals. Toast and cereal aren't bad ideas, but having them every morning makes for a rather bland breakfast... for anyone. Get her eating fresh fruits and veggies in the morning. Try different things.

Different kinds of yogurt even, and make sure she drinks milk. It's a good idea to keep her from eating too much sugar, especially in the morning.

Nothing wrong w/cereal and bananas, just be selective of the cereals you are choosing-stay away from chocolaty, fruity flavored, sugar-loaded presweetened junk cereal. Stick to cornflakes, rice krispies, some of the granola-type cereals; read the labels carefully, go for the ones with the higher protein content and lowest sugar content per serving. If she does not like eggs the way you have been fixing them, try different ways; you may find something she does like. Go to your local library and check out a cookbook or two, preferably one which is geared towards childrens' tastes.

No shame in cold cereal, sometimes fast and easy are all you got going for you in the mornings! If she's content and will eat cereal and bannana, why not? fruit is a big plus, I cna't get my kids to look ata fruit let alone agree to eat it. There are plenty of healty non sugar loadded cereals out there today.. Cherrioes is healthy, or even Rice Krispies ( my kids love to 'talk' to thier bowls) I promise you, no one will come take away your mommy liscense just because u serve cold cereal... Think about it.. she's getting milk, grains and fruit... and not fighting you every other step of the way.. sounds like good way to start the day for me :)

I have 3 kids (ages 6, 5 and 3) I make up a fruit salad and keep it in the fridge and for breakfast...it is there and quick and healthy. I cut up apples, bananas and grapes and put in a bowl with fat-free vanilla yogurt. (I add bananas right before serving or they get too mushy). The kids love it.....with a glass of juice and some whole wheat toast...that's breakfast. I work and go to school so it is all about convenience.

Cereal & bananas aren't bad! As long as it's not sugary cereal.... It's also hard to change a 3 year old's eating habits. I just tell mine she can't have waffles because she had them the day before and give her a choice between 2 other breakfasts. You're not doing badly.

Establishing good eating habits young are good but there is nothing wrong with cold cereal and bananas. If you want her to eat healthier just inroduce new fruits to her. When she gets alittle older she will like more things and it will be easier. When my daughter was 3 she would only eat hot dogs, bananas, and crakers. now shes 5 and has a very healthy diet.
