You can't take a passage from a book and say it's the truth of all things. doesn't work that way. it's word on a page, not you physically showing it to me in action, no visual besides your imagination to expand on it, so how can you dare say 'you' know the absolute truth when all you're doing is simply reading words off a page in a book?

I don't take Dr Seuss and start quoting green eggs and ham saying it's the truth, and then when you ask how and why, say 'because it is so'.....would you fall for that? NO

I have seen you before, you just want to laugh at me as I jump through hoops, presenting a legitimate argument that you have discarded before it was presented.
I am totally ok with where everyone is headed.
You choose what you want to believe, they choose what they want to believe, and I am confident that a God that is Almighty will be able to sort out who belongs where!

Now that wasn't painful, was it?

All of this depends on the person. If you dont accept certain "words" to be truth, then what can I say?
Ppl say its' "truth" b/c they believe the "Word" that was written. They take what was written and apply it to their lives and see that its true.
If you dont believe it, thats your choice. I dont know if you have read for urself, but that would be the first step, to read the "word" on the page. There are certain "truths" in it. Things that have been said far b4 real technology, it was written way back then, in the "Word".
Ppl have to read for themselves, so they wont say "b/c" when someone asks a question about such things. You have to have an example of what you do believe to be truth written there, in order to believe some thing else written there, other wise there would be no logic in it. Like you every one would question it.
Like certain science laws, it has yet to be proven wrong. If something is brought to my attention, then I will change my views on absolute "truth". I've yet to find a contradiction in the "word".
But it all comes back to the person, if you dont take the the "word" as truth, what can I say?

if you want to talk further about this IM me on yahoo perereca89

So is it that you want to be a Christian but can't find the proof you need or you want to prove that there is no proof of God? Or is it that you want to debate whether there is one or not and not change your position regardless of what is said by your opposition?

Look, there is no absolute proof of God. It is the only mistake God made in my opinion. I mean, to ask people to follow you and you don't verify you exist is kinda weird. Sure, people have faith because they are taught to, but I think some of us need more than faith and that shouldn't make us bad people. Then there are those that believe only because the punishment for not is kinda harsh. I think religion is good, I think it is necessary, but my problem is that there is no proof that I can see and you can have faith in a 200lb green flying dog, it has been seen by as many people as God has. And then religious people want to say that a person that worships that dog is crazy. The only difference is that no one wrote an elaborate book about the dog yet.

If you have already decided that whatever I say is incorrect, then there really is nothing I can say or do to change your mind.

Suppose I wanted you to prove to me that evolution is true, but you can't use any science books or quote those crazy scientists because "it doesn't work that way, it's words on a page." Yet something tells me that you fell for that.

So what I see here is you have chosen what you want to believe and chosen what you do not want to believe.

If not, then just tell me--what would convince you?

At the root of true Christianity; one accepts that Christ knows more than (man)self Unfortunately, many people currently have not accepted fully that principle.Jews and Christians were given the 'two or more witnesses' principle (Jews Deut. 10-20; Christians Matt. 18:16, 2 Cor. 13:1). If they had, they would realize that the scriptural 'old testament' (which was done away/abolished) was the law of Moses, not Genesis-Malachi.

I believe the Bible is true because (1) I took a look at the world around me and came to some very disturbing conclusions and (2) the Bible agreed with all of them and provided an answer to the problems those conclusions raised. So, in a way, the Bible passed my "reality check" -- it didn't try to lie to me or say things weren't the way they really are; it instead said, "Yep, it's that bad, but here's the hope you've been missing."

No, I can't prove it to you. You've already expressed your cynicism and since you're not that hot on words on a page, why would you put any credit to what anyone here says to answer your question?
Let's take this further.... since you're not that confident in the written word at all why did you bother to ask this question?

You are either right or wrong. Ask to with draw one million dollars from your bank account and if they say you don't have that much tell them they can't be absolutely sure how much you have.

Well Christianity is based on faith. Not proof. Just as we cannot prove God does NOT exist we also cannot prove that he does, but there are those who do believe

"God is Perfect.
If He didn't Exist, He wouldn't be Perfect.
Therefor, God must Exist."
