Brandi- please don't give up. Faith is not just a thought or feeling it is also an action. Get out your phone book and look up numbers of places that you can get help. Call a friend and talk about what is on your mind. For me I pray to Jesus and ask his will not mine. When I pray I can feel his comfort. If you have to cry and let it out then do so. I have been through crisis after crisis the last few years. This surprisingly enough is how I came to Jesus. I was a skeptic most of my life. For whatever reason he came to me in my moment of need. Having said that I firmly believe that he works through other people too. When you say 'giving up" I feel scared because I have known people in my life who have "given up" . It is a permanent solution to a temporary problem. Find support. Also the serenity prayer is good. I am borrowing it from AA but it does help. " God grant me the serenity to accept the things I cannot change, courage to change the things I can, and the wisdom to know the difference." Keep writing. Peace.

When I feel like like throwing in the towel that is when I pray the harder. I have come to see that Jesus will either take over the valley or He will go through it with me. I will read 1 Peter, Hebrews 14:5-6, Philippians 4:4-9, or John 15-16.
Stand in there, He is right there beside you. I'll be standing in the gap for you. I heard a Christian say before when you can't see His hand trust His heart. :)
Also read Psalm 22, King David felt the same way.

Lots of people experience hard times. Or let me say, everyone experiences hard times, but some much more than others. A simple answer to your question of, what to do when feeling like giving up, would be to pray to God for guidance and knowledge. Or you could read your bible. Or you could talk to someone else who is very strong in their faith, or on the other hand, talk to someone else who is also going through what you are to give you comfort.

Yes I do believe in having faith. When I feel like giving up, I sit down and make a list of the positive things in my life, and I listen to songs that I like, and take a walk. I also sometimes go through my address book and find people I haven't talked to for a long time and send them a card-it brightens their day and mine too.

Faith=Mental acceptance of and confidence in a claim as truth without proof supporting the claim.

I hope I can give some help.

Some people believe in X +Y+ Z+ M

And then science or logic comes along and proves that M is not correct or that it can not be correct. Then many people loose their Faith in the entirety of X+Y+Z+M

There is an alternative of believing only in X+Y+Z and not M(which is a bit hard)

For example, you can think that God is not Omnipotent and still believe in God.

Or you can believe in God and not believe in the church.

Or you can believe in God and not believe in the Apocalypse.

Pray. Here are some guidelines to help you:

The entire Scriptural record testifies that Jehovah (fyi - Jehovah is God's name) is the One to whom prayer should be directed (Ps 5:1, 2; Mt 6:9), that he is the “Hearer of prayer” (Ps 65:2; 66:19) and has power to act in behalf of the petitioners. (Mr 11:24; Eph 3:20) To pray to false gods and their idol images is exposed as stupidity, for the idols do not have the ability either to hear or to act, and the gods they represent are unworthy of comparison with the true God. (Jg 10:11-16; Ps 115:4, 6; Isa 45:20; 46:1, 2, 6, 7) The contest concerning godship between Baal and Jehovah, held on Mount Carmel, demonstrated the foolishness of prayer to false deities.—1Ki 18:21-39; compare Jg 6:28-32.

Though some claim that prayer may properly be addressed to others, such as to God’s Son, the evidence is emphatically to the contrary. True, there are rare instances in which words are addressed to Jesus Christ in heaven. Stephen, when about to die, appealed to Jesus, saying, “Lord Jesus, receive my spirit.” (Ac 7:59) However, the context reveals a circumstance giving basis for this exceptional expression. Stephen at that very time had a vision of “Jesus standing at God’s right hand,” and evidently reacting as if he were in Jesus’ personal presence, he felt free to speak this plea to the one whom he recognized as the head of the Christian congregation. (Ac 7:55, 56; Col 1:18) Similarly, the apostle John, at the conclusion of the Revelation, says, “Amen! Come, Lord Jesus.” (Re 22:20) But again the context shows that, in a vision (Re 1:10; 4:1, 2), John had been hearing Jesus speak of his future coming and thus John responded with the above expression of his desire for that coming. (Re 22:16, 20) In both cases, that of Stephen and that of John, the situation differs little from that of the conversation John had with a heavenly person in this Revelation vision. (Re 7:13, 14; compare Ac 22:6-22.) There is nothing to indicate that Christian disciples so expressed themselves under other circumstances to Jesus after his ascension to heaven. Thus, the apostle Paul writes: “In everything by prayer and supplication along with thanksgiving let your petitions be made known to God.”—Php 4:6.

Yes, I believe in faith.....remember the verse....with the faith of a mustard you can move mountains.
When I am feeling down, I get my mind on a gospel song and let it play over and over in my head seeral times. I ask the Lord to giveme the strength to carry on His will. Then I do whatever it takes to not pick up my trouble and carry it away with me. Cause when you ask the Lord for something, you have to let it go and let God have His way.

faith is but a manifestation of hope. if u have hope u will have faith and vice a versa. And yes i do believe in the power of faith , if that is your question. Because faith can make u do the immpossible. While having no faith can take u down a spiral which has no bottom.

Hard times unfortunately is a fact of life, until Satan is chained. And in his last days unchained will be the hardest for all as he will test our faith at every turn.

Not matter what do not give up your faith or belief, continue in your prayers, GOD WILL ANSWER YOUR PRAYERS!" He has never let me down.

That's the beauty of Christianity, because as a group of believers we can share one another's burdens. Do you have Christian friends you can share your issues with.

Sometimes those difficult times come about because we need those times to increase our faith. I know I'm going through my share of things right now. But I pray and ask my friends to pray for me as well.

I'll be praying for you!
