There was no plastic 100 years ago, so you must be referring to water stored in metal bottles. If the metal was lead, it dissolves in water less rapidly than other metals, but it still dissolves. Therefore, you definitely should not drink the water.

Bottled water has an expiration on it for a reason. There are actually purification molecules in purified water and those molecules are NOT going to keep your water purified forever.

Interesting thought - it would have to be glass bottled and sterile water, of course. There could be some contamination from the stopper though.
