I think that part of it is to do with your body heat as mentioned above. Mosquitos are very sensitive to heat and also carbon dioxide concentrations in the air. They can smell an exhalation of carbon dioxide from miles away.
The other possibility is how rich your blood is and if you are secreting hormones, for example pheremones. Obviously every animal feeds on the best food to survive and so it's a good bet that you have richer blood if you have more mosquito bites.

sturdy question. i does no longer imagine they do even if. nonetheless, i'm no longer an entomologist so i will't say for optimistic. merely appears like it would probable be better difficulty than it is properly worth on condition that with suggestions from the time you got here upon yet another mosquito, wrestled round with it and finally bit it the blood ought to be usually digested and it does no longer be all that a lot to commence with. probable better accessible to locate a impressive fats cow in a pasture someplace and bite her.

i dont wear aftershave perfume scented oil soaps anything and get bitten to death, true i always get bitten around warm parts of my bodu ie back of knees, i think its something to do with body odour (is that how u spell it)? I also react bad to bites my skin/body over reacts to the bite and infections, some people get bitten without even knowing it, my bites come up like golf balls scab up itch like mad, go burning hot and hard and hurt real bad... I thought it was just when i went on hols now midges in UK get me real bad! have to wear tracky bottoms all the time especially at night playing footy.. I sometimes use that jungle spray stuff works good just spray on your arms an legs before you go somewhere you know ur could get bitten, especially in this heat that breed like flys! i have dark olive skin too.. I heard vinegar and ciggerette ash stops the itching but dint want to try it LOL

Mosquitos seem to be attracted more to female body chemistry. I've found taking Vitamin B6 consistently keeps them away. It creates a bad smell & taste so they won't bite. Also, they are attracted to dark colors, especially navy blue so stay away from jeans.

Hi,
I am living in an country with a lot of mosquitos.
A nice trick will help you a lot.
Eat bananas!!! Mosquitos don't like the body smell of pople who are eating bananas!
Don't tell your partner and kids why you eat them. Eat them alone and you will see that the mosquitos use a other "Bloodbank".

It is said that they prefer darker and olive skins!!
I sound like the mosquito specialist today ! lol..also, some people don't actually get an allergic reaction. Maybe you are extra sensitive to the bites?

I believe its to do with the amount of glucose in your blood and the rich foods you eat. Its only the females that bite to produce eggs so maybe they need the nourishment.

They are attracted to some smells, like sweat, or people who eat bananas. They just have an attraction but you should be using bug replelent with things like West Nile about.

Scientists have come up with a new theory that some people have a 'smell' that repels them.
I don't think that this is actually the one I was looking for, but...
