We had our cat neutered about 2 weeks ago and she became more aggresive. Am afraid the dog will change for the worse. Thanks

Your cat might have had other factors that you were unaware of and could have been an isolated event. Spaying your female will calm your dog if anything, prolong her life and help keep her in the best possable health. There are not many behavioral changes that occur when you do this surgery and the pro's out way the cons by a mile.
Other than the previously mentioned positive behavior changes, spaying your dog is unlikely to change her basic personality. A dog’s playfulness, and general levels of activity and excitement, do not typically change. Your dog will continue to interact with your family in the same manner as she did before surgery. Both neutered males and spayed females have a tendency to gain weight, but weight gain can be prevented by proper diet and sufficient exercise.

Neutering would not replace character, nor does it replace the canine's temperament or self assurance. Neutering a youthful domestic dog would shop it from coming up an grownup physique and psychological adulthood, yet a 4 3 hundred and sixty 5 days previous canine's character isn't noticably affected. What neutering does do is positioned an end to canine to canine aggression, and many times places an end to marking habit and dribbling, notwithstanding in an grownup canine, that may no longer consistently the case. Neutering your canine motives some minor soreness for an afternoon or 2, however the advantages some distance outweigh the hazards. Plus maximum vets deliver the canine homestead with drugs to assist with the soreness. maximum canines are returned to conventional activity interior of a few days, and outdoors of a few licking, never even word. Your dad is in all probability lots extra uncomfortable with the belief of neutering than your canine would be with the technique. Neutering makes your canine a lots extra desirable puppy while they do no longer consistently ought to be thinking approximately marking territory, and different male canines each and every of the time. they are often slightly calmer, have extra desirable concentration and interest. they are much less apt to wander and stray. Plus neutered canines have a tendency to stay longer, extra healthy lives. Spaying and neutering pets is a component of to blame puppy possession. Kudos to you for desirous to do the desirable suited issue.

Cats are a law unto themselves and even among cats I think your experience is atypical. Neutering a female dog generally makes little difference in her personality. It does avoid the behavioral problems that might pop up due to the stress of motherhood. Your dog should be fine.

First of all you neuter males and spay females.
Altering your pet should not change their personality.
I've had several animals over many many years, and ALL of the domestic ones were altered and it didn't affect their personality.
The horses weren't always altered. But ALL of the others have been.

Usually it calms them down because the hormones aren't acting on them anymore. Believe me, if it is a female, you want to get her spayed because when they go into heat, they try to get out and need to wear a pad for the bleeding (very messy). If it is a male, neutering tends to make them less agressive and takes away the risk of testicular cancer.

Usually they will become calm and kinda lazy. But it is a good ideal to get them fixed because Male dogs can smell a female dog for 3 miles (according to my vet) But all my pets are a lot calmer now that they are fixed.

I have been told that when a female goes into heat, her personality changes and might become a little more agressive. That's exactly what happened to my Great Dane. She got into a fight with my other dog and they don't like each other anymore. :(
