Yes it is as far as the colour system is concerned however the sound carrier is different, 6mg Hz in UK and 5.5MHz in Australia. UK sets also only have UHF transmissions and Australia have programmes on both VHF and UHF , I have modified a few before I retired from the trade but CTVs are so cheap now that you would buy one locally

Although the systems are very similar, there are slight differences - Australia uses PAL-B, where as the UK uses PAL-I. PAL-I has a better picture quality, but the difference is small. Almost any PAL receiver can cope with either format.
