1. Sleep
2. Drink
3. Solve some Penny Press puzzles. Penny Press makes several puzzle magazines: crossword, variety, logic problems, and word search. I recommend getting one of each. You can buy Penny Press puzzle magazines at Barnes and Noble or any place that has a decent magazine rack. Also, bring a pocket dictionary.
4. Play solitaire. You can get a deck of miniature cards from the gift shop at most airports. They fit better on the meal trays.
5. Read a book of short stories.
6. Write/draw in a journal or write some letters
7. Play some scratch-off lottery tickets. Buy a whole bunch of them before you go.
8. Learn origami. You can get an origami kit at Barnes and Noble: http://search.barnesandnoble.com/booksearch/isbnInquiry.asp?z=y&isbn=1582868085&tgs=1&itm=3
9. Solve some "disentanglement" puzzles. They're also called "wire puzzles". They're those puzzles that you have to try and separate objects that are tangled together. You can find them at some novelty stores and stores that carry a variety of different types of puzzles. You can also get them online: http://www.puzzlemaster.ca/puzzles.php?type=wire&start=15
10. If you're flying with someone else, play some games. Toys R Us (or any big toy store) has a section for travel size games.

Based on why you have asked this question, I guess I can assmue that you neither love reading, love sketching, or love playing cards (airplanes are great for practicing magic tricks.) One great thing are Sudoku puzzles....easy to learn, you can choose to challenge yourself, and their suppose to be good for your head too. Of course, music is always an option, but you can also practice learning something with flashcards, like a new language (I've always to have time to learn signlanguage or Tagalog - i'm half Philipino.) Whatever you end up choosing, I hope you have an enjoyable flight nonetheless.

Read a book or magazine, work on puzzles (crossword, sudoku, word find, etc.), bring card games along to play by yourself or someone else on the plane (regular deck of cards, skip-o, uno, etc.), draw, write a letter or in a journal, strike up a conversation with a fellow passenger, look out the window, sleep, knit (if they allow knitting needles on the plane)....

hope this helps and enjoy your trip!

China Airlines does not prohibit electronic devices, they only prohibit them being used during take off and landing due to safety issues.

Your fine to use them once the seat belt light goes off.
