Evangelical or fundamentalist Christians, Jews, Muslims, Sikhs, Hindi, Zoroastrian? There is a wide variety of religions that have followers in either category.
However assuming you mean Christian...I would have say Evangelical are the scarier as they spread like a plaque.

Worse? You haven't seen 'worse' yet. Christian 'Dominionists' have largely usurped the local level political apparatus of the Republican Party, and are engaged in a sub rosa process to politically motivate moderate Christians under the false cover of religious issues such as morality and family values. The goal is nothing less than the takeover of all elective offices in the USA, and turning it into a theocracy.
Their doctrine comes from the Bible, starting with the term 'dominion' at Genesis 1:28... “And God said unto them, [Adam and Eve] Be fruitful and multiply, and fill the earth and subdue it; and have DOMINION… over every living thing.” They interpret DOMINION as: “... a supremacy in determining and directing the actions of others or in governing politically, socially, or personally.”
They are succeeding.
Wake up. Take a stand. Do something... for we are sowing the seeds of our own destruction, twiddling our thumbs while these religious nut-jobs facilitate God's demolition job.

Okay- am I the only one who realizes that these two words overlap? They essentially ARE the same thing, as evangelicals ARE fundes and fundes are USUALLY evangelicals. Very little differences.
