I lived in a European country for a while, and honestly people were more religious there than in the U.S.
Maybe you should try traveling a bit?
...and maybe you should recognize that you put your faith in many things not religious. Be it technology, your friends, your currency, other drivers on the road. When you step back and look at it with a scrutinous eye, it all seems like a huge amount of gullible craziness. Don't think you're immune to it just because it isn't taking the form of religion.

Being a Christian is not a religion. It's a state of being, a way of life. Drunks can be religious. Addicts can be religious. Prostitutes can be religious. But you are not a Christian until you have accepted Jesus Christ as your savior, been forgiven of your sins, and live your life at the leading of the Holy Spirit. That's a life----not a religion.
I tell you what---you can mock us all you want. No problem. The Bible has already warned us that we would be hated, mocked, and betrayed--because the world first hated Him. There will even be some of you who will kill us for our faith. Missionaries all over the world are persecuted, arrested for having possession of Bibles. That's okay.
But when you are left here to go through the worst destruction, murder, disease, and natural disasters that you couldn't imagine in your wildest dreams----remember your words. Remember your fear of us. Remember your hatred of something you could have had, but denied and turned away. That, I believe, will be the worst torture you will feel----that you were "almost persuaded" but decided that belligerence and hatred were better for your life.

Please stop with the stereotypes already. It's a little tedious.
The fact that these issues are debated might clue you in to the fact that we all do not follow the "religious" party line. There are quite a few of us who do not, and we will see to it that the separation of Church and State is upheld. That separation is the cornerstone of our government.
You need to educate yourself about America as it really is, not just these media sound bites that you are apparently swallowing as "representative of America and Americans". After all, I doubt that Great Britain would like for the Spice Girls to be chosen as representative of British taste and culture.

Do you realize that religion is older than America? It's been around for a long, long time.
In addition, there are religious people all over the world. And why does it bother you, as long as they aren't forcing their views upon you?

I don't fall for "Religious Crap" as you say. I do, however, surrender myself to the Holy Spirit.
Have you ever even studied faith? At all?

There are, believe it or not, religious people outside the US. Take a vacation to Ireland or Saudi Arabia sometime.

"Fall" for religious "crap?" Why do people come on here to spew about people believing in God? Are you bitter about something? Did someone who called themselves a Christian kill your dog? You are sad.
