for egyptian:what will be ur reaction if the copt's language become the official language instead of arabic?

I'm not Egyptian, but it would be VERY hard for Coptic to become the national language of Egypt because it is EXTINCT as a native language. No one learns it as their first language and it has become just a language of the Coptic Christian Church, therefore it lacks much necessary vocabulary right now to conduct a modern economy. And the fact that NO ONE speaks it fluently as a first language would be a VERY serious problem. The problems could be solved, as they were in Israel, when Hebrew was resurrected from the dead to become the national language, but it would be VERY difficult since in Israel the majority of the population knew Hebrew as a second language because the majority of the population was Jewish while the majority of the population of Egypt is NOT Coptic Christian and does not know Coptic even as a second language.

However, Coptic is the direct descendant of Ancient Egyptian, so it would be poetic justice if Coptic were to once again be the national language of the Nile Valley.

It won't happen because the copts themselves can't use the coptic language for the everyday use ... they hardly pray in church with it ... wake up

it won't happend
cuz muslim is about 90 percent of egypt
muslim love their quraan lang.
so they will keep speking arabic what ever it takes
we can fight for that
and islam is increasing not decreasing so why that will happend
and even if
between muslim we will talk arabic
i hope that will never happen

wouldn't happen cuz Muslims are the majority and even cop tics dont speak Coptic so how can it be official language
