Probably not. I know it's HIGHLY illegal in the U.S. and if a dealer or car place does it, they can lose their entire business over it. It's kind of cheating the system. Would you want to buy a car that you think has 25,000 miles on it when it really has 180,000? Probably not. So it's not really fair to deceive anyone else that way just so you can get more money for a trade-in.

I seriously don't think that's legal anywhere, I don't know why it would be. Just be honest about it. If you're car has a lot of miles but still runs good, just say that. My bf just bought a Nissan Altima with 175,000 miles on it and it runs great, so miles aren't really too much of an issue as long as the rest of the car is in good shape and you took good care of it (did all the oil changes, maintenance stuff and check-ups).
