I am a Christian myself, and yet I also see the irony whenever I read those arguments. I am even kind of embarrassed for some of those people... who are not able to see how ridiculous it is to use the Bible as backup when talking to somebody who has already stated they do not believe it.
If we are talking amongst ourselves.... or if we are talking to an agnostic or to somebody who believes, but just doesn't understand, then it makes perfect sense to use the Bible as reference.
The problem is, you are asking for proof about something which cannot and does not need to be proven. I do not have to justify my belief in God or in my religion.... any more than you have to justify to me that you do not believe.
Fair enough?

Hehe,
all this useless organisations "called church" are since 2000 years on tour to find idiots who believe the lies that they produce ... and they make good money with it.
Every 10 year old schoolboy would laugh about a biblewriter if he would stand behind him while this "genius from 2000 years ago" write about things that he does not understand.
Every 10 year old schoolboy knows today 1 million times more as this people. And people still believe in this BS.
Another thing is that the bible was around 300 years missing and then rewritten around the year "AC 350" ... only from people who heard here something and there something. Unbelievable that brainless idiots still believe.
Of course are some facts in it, but the most things are just created by a lack of knowledgement.

Having been an atheist and now a believer it has nothing to do with thinking for yourself. Fact is, you think being an atheist is somehow enlightened or original. Therefore, you enjoy picking arguments with "believers" to prove your unmatched level of intelligence. If you were in fact intelligent, an atheist wouldn't have even dabbled with this question because it is quite obvious that not all faith is based on the bible nor even books. Faith is based on oral traditions passed down, then recorded. I guess it would be like an atheist preaching that higher power doesn't exist, then recording it in a book, then publishing that book for other atheists and quoting it in trivial arguments.
Furthermore, it is not us that we want you hear but yourselves. You preach that there is not a higher power and it quite coincidental we exist. I guess you can hold to the belief that science will one day explain away everything that could possibly be unknown to us humans. Does that sounds like faith?
But odds are you'll spend the rest of your life waiting for new science and picking arguments with people who can actually accept the truth we are not the definitive culmination of two atoms happening to bump each other in passing.

And they change their interpretation all the time. Abortion is not called murder in the Bible. I confronted a minister with this, and he answered that God is still sending us messages with new dogma. That answers the question of why He stopped talking to us around 100 AD, but why isn't this new scripture added to the Bible?
Also, Copernicus was condemned because the Bible says that the Sun revolves around the Earth. There was some battle where God made the Sun stand still so daylight would last longer. How do they answer that?

You requested a sturdy question. indexed less than are some innovations: a million. We sense that all of us who asks a query needs to understand the why, besides because the what, of an answer. it isn't adequate to assert "sure, Jesus did this and that" without giving a reference. This financial disaster and verse ought to also inform you, or all of us else who may have an interest, the information and context in the back of the tale. by technique of how, you need to be shocked what number of people will take a verse or paragraph thoroughly out of context and attempt to make it say something thoroughly different than what the author or speaker meant it to be. 2. there is yet an extra reason we supply Bible verses, and not in any respect basically to fill area. Granted, and as I pronounced above, we prefer to provide the finished tale. yet the different reason is this can stimulate your wondering. The Bible has a lot to furnish: words of know-how, peace, philosophy, or perhaps eternal existence. i have study of Russian or perhaps purple chinese language officials who, professing to be atheistic, took pride in possessing and reading the Bible!

I do think for myself. I never understood why atheists ask that question. Christians are no mindless drones. I have arrived at my faith through a logical process of elimination that weeded out what didn't work and brought me eventually to what did.
Reason alone is your biggest mistake. You jab at Christians for faith, then place faith in your own reason, which is flawed. The worst mistake anyone can have is to not see their own faults. Facts? What facts do you wish to hear? The Bible is fact to me - I have seen the evidence and yet because of the faith implied I have no facts to show you. By the same token, your reason is fact to you, yet I don't share your faith in it.
And despite what you will think of Bible quotes, I believe it is a verse in the Bible that you can accept and agree with:
"For the message of the cross is foolishness to those who are perishing, but to us who are being saved it is the power of God."
- 1 Corinthians 1:18

Although I am a devout Christian, I totally agree with you. For example, if an athiest were to question the liability of the Bible, it would be be dumb to use Biblical quotes to prove the Bible accurate.
That's like trying to prove to the public that the president is intelligent by making the president say "I am smart."
God bless!!!!

If you atheists have no belief in the Bible, then why do you atheists hang around religious/spiritual forums!......you 've proven yourself to hang around religious/spiritual forums to Condemn, Harass, Disrespect, Mock, Be Rude, Verbally Abusive, And Insulting To Believers!......So, What's Your Problem!....Your Problem Is "HATE" Towards Believers & GOD!.......Believers don't care whether you believe in God or not because that's your choice & problem, not ours!......The Gospel is for those who WANTS TO BELIEVE & RECEIVE, NOT FOR THOSES WHO DON'T!...(Matt. 7:6).....Why can't you atheists get that through your thick heads!......since you've made up your minds that there is no GOD (Psalms 14: 1).. and come on these religious/spiritual sites to be Rude & Insulting because of your beliefs, then find an atheists site that believes the same way you believe and stick with your own kind!....Simple As that!....unless you want to stir up STRIFE!....

It doesn't matter whether you believe Christians or not. Your quarrel is with God. You will still have to confess that God is Lord on judgment day. You will still be judged for all your deeds and every idle word on judgment day whether you believe or not.
I would give you bible quotes to back this up but apperantly you don't want to hear it.
